E’ aperto tutte le domeniche e c’è una guida a riferirvi dei suoi segreti.
Si narra che fosse stato costruito addirittura prima dell’800, e che Carlo Magno in persona fosse passato di qui.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il paese è di forma allungata, da una parte l'abbazia e dall'altra questo castello. Parzialmente restaurato, spoglio (ciò che conteneva è stato evidentemente portato via, comprese tutte le opere d'arte), ma in gran parte ben tenuto e in via di restauro. La struttura comunque è per lo più integra e visitabile e offre un bel panorama sul paese e sui boschi circostanti. Vale la pena, anche perché ci sono ragazzi gentili e disponibili che vi guideranno lungo la visita (gratuitamente). Per i gruppi numerosi si consiglia di prenotare, trovate info e il modulo sul sito del comune di Montenero Sabino.
The town is elongated, on one side the abbey and on the other this castle. Partially restored, bare (what it contained was evidently taken away, including all the works of art), but largely well maintained and being restored. However, the structure is mostly intact and can be visited and offers a beautiful view of the town and surrounding woods. It is worth it, also because there are kind and helpful guys who will guide you along the visit (for free). For large groups it is advisable to book, find info and the form on the website of the municipality of Montenero Sabino.
