La vecchia torre è rimasta pressoché intatta dalle rovine di un antico castello che ha dato il nome al centro abitato. La torre non è visitabile al suo interno, ma è possibile accedere all’area al di sotto della torre, entrando all’interno delle mura del castello, da cui si accede solo a piedi dal centro abitato. Dall’interno le mura è possibile godere della splendida vista degli Appennini e dell’area denominata Groppi di Camporaghena Tower located on the top of the hill overlooking the town of Comano Castello. The old tower has remained intact from the ruins of an ancient castle that gave its name to the town. The tower is not open to the inside, but you can access the area below the tower, entering within the castle walls, which is accessed only on foot from the town. From inside the walls you can enjoy the stunning views of the Apennines and the area called Groppi Camporaghena

Una scala che porta in alto lasciata all'abbandono con rovi e vigne, chiusa in cima da una recinzione privata, un pò strana questa cosa! The castle tower is the most evident on the hill although there are still parts of the walls. Nice to see but there are no precise indications. A staircase that leads upwards left to abandonment with brambles and vineyards, closed at the top by a private fence, a bit strange this thing!

La torre è cilindrica e presenta la tipica merlatura tipica dei castelli malaspiniani, risale al XIII secolo ed ha una corte muraria del quattrocento con altre torri di sostegno lungo la fortificazione muraria. Il castello si raggiunge passando dal borgo ma manca una segnaletica precisa. Dal parcheggio sottostante si vede una scala che sale che probabilmente era un passaggio per poter visitare il sito.Ora lasciata andare, piena di rovi, vedendola da sopra sembra sia stato chiuso l'accesso da privati. Il borgo ha alcuni bei portali in pietra arenaria. Passing through the area, the tower of the castle stands out on the hill and is the most well-preserved part. The tower is cylindrical and has the typical battlements typical of Malaspinian castles, it dates back to the thirteenth century and has a fifteenth-century walled courtyard with other supporting towers along the wall fortification. The castle can be reached passing through the village but there is no precise signposting. From the parking lot below you can see a staircase that goes up which was probably a passage to visit the site. Now let go, full of brambles, seeing it from above it seems to have been closed for private access. The village has some beautiful sandstone portals.
