★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Per l'architettura che fin da bambina guardavo con stupore reverenziale, e solo con mio padre ne parlavamo, dove vivevo non sentivo mai nessuno parlare dell' architettura di Trieste, ma era appena finita la guerra.
For the architecture that I had been watching with reverential amazement since I was a child, and only with my father we talked about it, where I lived I never heard anyone talk about the architecture of Trieste, but the war had just ended.

L'estetica è meravigliosa!!! Un luogo senza tempo

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questo edificio venne progettato nel 1906 da Romeo Depaoli. Rappresenta uno dei migliori esempi di Liberty a Trieste e si conserva tuttora nelle condizioni originali. Venne costruito per il Cavalier Augusto Terni ma viene anche chiamato “casa Smolars” poiché al pianoterra all’angolo tra via Mazzini e via Dante ospitava la storica cartoleria Smolars.
This building was designed in 1906 by Romeo Depaoli. It represents one of the best examples of Liberty in Trieste and has been preserved in its original condition. It was built for Cavalier Augusto Terni but is also called "Smolars house" because on the ground floor at the corner of via Mazzini and via Dante it housed the historic Smolars stationery store.

L’edificio venne chiamato “casa Smolars”, poiché al pianoterra all’angolo tra via Mazzini e via Dante fu fondata da Costanza Carniel la cartoleria Smolars, ancora attiva in città.
Il palazzo è tuttora alle condizioni originali ed è uno dei migliori esempi di liberty in città.
In Piazza della Repubblica on the corner between Via Dante and Via Mazzini up to Via San Nicolò, there is Casa Terni Smolars, designed in 1906 by the architect Romeo Depaoli in liberty style for the cavalier Augusto Terni.
The building was called "Casa Smolars", as the Smolars stationery, still active in the city, was founded on the ground floor between Via Mazzini and Via Dante.
The building is still in original condition and is one of the best examples of liberty in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno dei tanti bellissimi palazzi che si trovano a Trieste, uno dei miei preferiti. Ogni volta che ci passo davanti alzo gli occhi e guardo quella stupenda finestra rotonda le statue e le decorazioni, meraviglia!!!!!!!!
One of the many beautiful buildings found in Trieste, one of my favorites. Every time I pass I look up and I look at that wonderful round window statues and decorations, wonder !!!!!!!!
