Naming the place a café would suggest they welcome customers who are looking for a cup of coffee and a bit of rest but they don't. We asked for a table when many were available. The waitress nodded and then started clearing the nearest one and continued to ignore us for a long time while swiping it clean and talking to other staff. Finally she offered us to sit and gave us a drink menu. Another waiter came to take our order and I wanted to know if they had some cake or icecream to have with the coffee. Gave us another menu and then we waited forever. No one ever came back to take our order. We used their bathroom facilities and then left without having anything to eat or drink. Nearby customers did however get great looking food and their facilities were top notch.

After a long day of shopping Cafe Romano was a great reprieve in a beautiful location. The best lasagna we have ever had! Gianni was an exception server and very helpful...he even called a taxi for us after dinner. Highly recommended.

The ambiance of the restaurant is quite nice, but the service and food is definitely needs and can use improvement. Two of our three dishes were ok, but the whole time while there we felt abandoned and couldn’t figure out who our waiter really was.

We had lasagna and spaghetti. Food was incredible, service quick, friendly and good English. Price seemed right for atmosphere and quality. Our first restaurant in Rome and will be hard to top. We came 1:30 on a Tuesday in May.

We enjoyed our lunch here, the service was excellent and all staff very friendly. The cacio e Pepe was just ok though, there was nutmeg in it and not much pecorino or pepper - I would suggest that the chef keep to the classic ingredients in this iconic dish. As others have said the prices were a little higher than average especially the coffee which was filter coffee at 5 euro each and desserts 10 euro.

Falafel with aubergine, tahini and raw asparagus is so rare to find in the center of Rome, i enjoyed a lot!
