Per arrivarci basta uscire per un po' dal sentiero e seguirne un altro ben segnalato dalle indicazioni. Un bel posto dove fare una pausa, da vedere ovviamente se si sta facendo questa strada. Il posto, suggestivo e che si affaccia su un'imponente vallata, è conosciuto per le testimonianze lasciate su una grande pietra dai cosiddetti briganti, coloro che negli anni dell'unificazione italiana si opposero all'annessione dei territori del Regno delle Due Sicilie all'Italia. In Abruzzo, infatti, il fenomeno dei brigantaggio, nato proprio in risposta alla nascita delle nuova penisola, fu particolarmente radicato e proprio sulla Majella operarono diverse bande tanto che alcune fonti narrano la presenza di una banda della Majella. Il Blockhouse, a tale proposito, fu costruito proprio vicino al territorio dei briganti con la funzione di avamposto militare e punto di controllo. Un itinerario adatto a tutti permette di godere di un bellissimo panorama, immerso nel verde e nella natura incontaminata. Ancora ben visibili le iscrizioni lasciate dai briganti nella prima metà del 1800. Assolutamente da vedere. Dal rifugio Pomilio, si percorre il sentiero fino a Blockhaus, da quí si continua sul sentiero SP verso le creste più in quota della Majella...ad 1 ora e mezza di camminata, prima di arrivare al fontanino alla Sella dell'Acquaviva si trova il cartello che porta alla balconata con le iscrizioni. Da questa posizione si gode di un'affaccio bellissimo sulla Valle dell'Orfento a nord/ovest, il vallone di Pennapiedimonte a nord/est e guardando a sud si vedono tutte le vette più importanti del massiccio montuoso, con una giornata di buona visibilità si potrà vedere il Bivacco Pelino sulla vetta del Monte Amaro.
