★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ai margini della Caldara di Manziana è presente un boschetto di betulla bianca (Betula pendula), specie tipica dei paesi nordici con climi freddi ed ambienti di tundra. La presenza di betulle a queste latitudini, a quote così basse e vicino al mare è una vera particolarità botanica e probabilmente si tratta di relitti post glaciali resistiti fino ad oggi grazie alle caratteristiche microclimatiche e geologiche della Caldara.
In inverno i fusti banchi delle betulle risaltano sul terreno scuro ricoperto dalle foglie e dentro al bosco sembra di stare in Finlandia.
At the edge of the Caldara di Manziana there is a white birch grove (Betula pendula), a species typical of the Nordic countries with cold climates and tundra environments. The presence of birch trees at these latitudes, at such low altitudes and close to the sea is a real botanical peculiarity and probably they are post-glacial wrecks that have survived to this day thanks to the microclimatic and geological characteristics of the Caldara.
In winter the stalks of birch trees stand out on the dark ground covered with leaves and inside the woods it seems to be in Finland.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Entrando dal medesimo ingresso della caldara e mantenendosi sulla destra, ci si addentra in questo bosco fatto di alberi bianchi. Infatti il tronco di betulla è bianco come il latte e conferisce al luogo, di per sé già "lunare" a causa della presenza di caldare, ulteriore fascino. Purtroppo è trascurato ed i percorsi sono inagibili e sporchi.
Entering from the same entrance of the caldara and keeping to the right, you enter this wood made of white trees. In fact, the birch trunk is white as milk and gives the place, which is already "lunar" in itself due to the presence of heat, further charm. Unfortunately it is neglected and the paths are inaccessible and dirty.
