Essendo gennaio, faceva abbastanza freddo, non battendoci il sole: è consigliato un abbigliamento pesante! To visit! It is a cute medieval village with historic walls and views of the Piacenza hills. The characteristic alleys make it very "romantic". Being January, it was quite cold, not beating the sun: warm clothing is recommended!

Situato sulle prime alture della val d'Arda, è caratterizzato da un borgo medioevale arroccato lungo la collina che domina la vallata. Il centro storico si trova sulla riva sinistra del torrente Arda, mentre sulla sponda opposta si è sviluppato un quartiere residenziale. Dista circa 30 km da Piacenza, 42 km da Cremona e 45 km da Parma. Castell'Arquato ha il titolo di città d'arte, è stato insignito della bandiera arancione dal Touring Club Italiano e fa parte del club de I borghi più belli d'Italia. Located on the first hills of the Val d'Arda, it is characterized by a medieval village perched along the hill overlooking the valley. The historic center is located on the left bank of the Arda stream, while a residential neighborhood has developed on the opposite bank. It is about 30 km from Piacenza, 42 km from Cremona and 45 km from Parma. Castell'Arquato has the title of city of art, has been awarded the orange flag by the Italian Touring Club and is part of the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Uno dei borghi medievali meglio conservati d’Italia dove a Settembre organizzano una rievocazione storica molto grande. È stato anche set di qualche film ambientato nel medioevo. Molto bella la mostra di presepi che si svolge tra metà novembre e metà gennaio. In generale il borgo e gli edifici storici meritano assolutamente la visita, come la Rocca, il palazzo o la chiesa principale. Consiglierei anche di non fermarsi alla piazza principale ma fate un giro attorno alla chiesa, c’è una terrazza molto bella che si affaccia sulla valle sottostante, proprio a fianco alla Rocca. Inoltre ritengo meriti anche fare due passi per le vie del borgo, tra le case, per scoprire qualche scorcio mozzafiato. Unica nota stonata, a mio avviso, le auto parcheggiate nella piazza che rovinano completamente l’atmosfera e il paesaggio. Le 4 stelle sono proprio dovute a questo, altrimenti meritava 5. Beautiful village in the province of Piacenza. One of the best preserved medieval villages in Italy where in September they organize a very large historical reenactment. It was also the set of some films set in the Middle Ages. The nativity scene exhibition that takes place between mid-November and mid-January is very beautiful. In general, the village and the historic buildings are absolutely worth a visit, such as the Rocca, the palace or the main church. I would also recommend not stopping at the main square but take a tour around the church, there is a very nice terrace overlooking the valley below, right next to the Rocca. I also believe that it is also worth taking a stroll through the streets of the village, among the houses, to discover some breathtaking views. The only discordant note, in my opinion, are the cars parked in the square which completely ruin the atmosphere and the landscape. The 4 stars are precisely due to this, otherwise it deserved 5.
A	AM on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Borgo molto bello e interessante, ci sono diverse cose carine da vedere. Il tutto però non è legato e coordinato. La chiesa della Collegiata e il chiostro ad essa collegato sono gestiti dal parroco, il torrione e il museo geologico dall'APT, (museo Illica non pervenuto all'APT non abbiamo trovato niente), molti palazzi sono di privati e non visitabili. La sensazione è che ognuno gestisca le cose per se e non vi sia collaborazione. Capisco che durante l'inverno l'afflusso sia minore ma la poca cura davanti a molti luoghi è palese, parecchi vasi con fuori morti che probabilmente fino all'autunno erano vivi, sono in bella vista un po' ovunque. Le macchine possono girare liberamente praticamente ovunque, non solo quelle dei residenti. Si può arrivare nella piazza centrale del comune comodamente in macchina, cosa certamente utile per persone con difficoltà, disabili o per bimbi molto piccoli, ma è un continuo scansarsi per non essere messi sotto. Se ci si ferma a mangiare nel borgo, consiglio di prenotare prima anche se ci sono parecchi ristoranti, ci sono comunque anche posti dove prendere panini o taglieri di salumi. Il Torrione, più che per il materiale raccolto nei piccoli ambienti che si incontrano lungo le scale, vale certamente la pena per la terrazza che si trova in cima. La vista è spettacolare. La piazza è davvero molto bella. La chiesa della Collegiata ha una delle cappelle laterali dipende che vale il viaggio fino a lì. Il Chiostro è un bell'esempio di architettura medioevale, conduce ad un piccolo museo con dei pezzi molto interessanti. Vale la pena una visita al museo geologico soprattutto per i resti di balena ritrovati nei dintorni, veramente spettacolari. Very nice and interesting village, there are several nice things to see. The Collegiate Church and the cloister connected to it are managed by the parish priest, the tower and the geological museum by the APT, (Illica museum not received by the APT we have not found anything), many buildings are private and not open to visitors. The feeling is that everyone manages things for themselves and there is no collaboration. I understand that during the winter the influx is less but the lack of care in front of many places is evident, several pots with dead outside that were probably alive until autumn, are in plain sight almost everywhere. Cars can run freely almost anywhere, not just those of residents. You can arrive in the central square of the town comfortably by car, which is certainly useful for people with difficulties, the disabled or for very young children, but it is a continuous avoidance so as not to be put under. If you stop to eat in the village, I recommend booking in advance even if there are several restaurants, there are also places where you can get sandwiches or cold cuts. The Torrione, rather than for the material collected in the small rooms that meet along the stairs, is certainly worthwhile for the terrace at the top. The view is spectacular. The square is really beautiful. The Collegiate Church has one of the side chapels which is worth the journey up to there. The Cloister is a fine example of medieval architecture, leading to a small museum with very interesting pieces. It is worth a visit to the geological museum especially for the whale remains found in the surrounding area, truly spectacular.
R	Rifugio dei sapori 92 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Esperienza molto bella. Borgo medievale tenuto molto bene. Da vigiate la torre visconsea perché tenuta da dio inoltre la vista dall’alto è fantastica. Da visitare se di passaggio perché è suggestivo e molto bello. Io lo consiglio soprattutto d’estate però anche il inverno non è mica male. Consigliato a tutti Very nice experience. Very well kept medieval village. The Visconsean tower should be in attendance because it is held by god, and the view from above is fantastic. To visit if passing through because it is suggestive and very beautiful. I recommend it especially in summer, but winter is not bad either. Recommended for everyone
