Very interesting and well set up. A window to get an idea of ​​the ancient and splendid ancient Miletus that we irreparably lost with the 1783 earthquake. I invite everyone to visit the museum because it is worth it.

The collections are divided by historical periods, and boast works of great value and extraordinary beauty, starting with the beautiful Roman polychrome mosaics found on the outskirts of the city. Byzantine are the eight coins, fullers, minted in the early 1000s and included, with another 31 less ancient pieces in a single collection. Considerable space is dedicated to works from the abbey of the Holy Trinity and the Cathedral, including the sarcophagus of Ruggero Sanseverino, built in the 14th century by the skilled hands of the "Master of Miletus", known as Francesco Negri Arnoldi. Among the paintings, the icon on slate of St. Nicholas of Bari and the Madonna of Peace, a beautiful painting by Giuseppe Naso. The silverware and sacred vestments also deserve attention, including a chiseled silver censer and an incense-carrying nacelle, as well as a precious planet and the late Renaissance ivory Crucifix by Alessandro Algardi. Finally, great curiosity and interest was aroused by the cross and the Byzantine inscription on a column always found in the ancient Miletus: an identical one, and for now only one, is found in the Cattolica di Stilo. The area dedicated to sacred art is of artistic importance with precious pieces which are the result of the work of collection and conservation of the Episcopal Curia. The Diocesan Historical Archive, established in 1200 and one of the most important in Calabria, is preserved in the adjacent Palazzo del Seminario. It collects documents from the Norman era to the present day, sorted by country and chronologically. Among the most important fifteen parchments, the oldest of the eleventh century, and the acts of pastoral visits, parishes, convents, etc. Annexed to the archive is the Library of the Seminary, specialized ecclesiastical, founded in 1696; it can boast 90 incunabula and over 12,000 volumes.
