T	Ti dell'o on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ieri sera, ero di passaggio in centro con amici a goderci un po' la città spoglia dal solito caos torinese e proseguendo nel nostro tour, ci siamo fermati davanti alla basilica dei santi Maurizio e Lazzaro. Imponente se la guardi dal basso verso l'alto e un po' mistica forse per i racconti, le dicerie sui sotterranei legati a questa chiesa dove si dicesse, non essendoci cimiteri ai tempi, seppellissero i torinesi chi in fosse comuni, chi in sepolcri veri e propri. Non ho mai testato questa teoria ma mi piace pensare ci siano molte anime a custodire questa chiesa. Nel1678 fu rimaneggiata e dotata dell'ampia cupola che sormonta la navata centrale. Di gusto barocco, e' posta a ridosso della retrostante Galleria Umberto I. Merita una visita. Nella sacrestia si possono ancora vedere i sai bianchi con cappuccio completo con solo i fori per gli occhi, usati fino al 1939 durante le processioni. Chiesa antica e misteriosa. Su volere di re Vittorio Amedeo II, nel 1728 la chiesa fu interamente ceduta all'Ordine Mauriziano e all'Arciconfraternita, che così assunse il nome di Regia Arciconfraternita dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro e la chiesa divenne quindi «basilica magistrale dell'Ordine dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro». dates back to the end of the sixteenth century.
