★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antica Tettoia dell'Orologio di Porta Palazzo and the public piazzas around it are one of the most interesting and picturesque markets that I've ever seen. At a time when many cities in Europe have lost this kind of market, mostly replaced by expensive food shops masquerading as farmer stalls, Antica continues to function as markets should with many makeshift stalls of farmers selling their own products at incredibly competitive prices. Definitely worth the visit if only to see and hear the vendors shout out what they have on offer.
