Former home of the shroud of Turin that was destroyed by a Fire in 1997. The entire interior has been Beautifully restored aside from the central alter where the shroud was kept. Amazing anything survived at all. Absolutely beautiful craftmanship in all aspects and breathtaking to behold.

Reopened after nearly 3 decades of repairs and restoration. An absolute, architectural gem and a significant place to visit for those arriving in Turin. The central altar was also beautifully restored later in 2021, but it seems to be missing its ornate, golden crown. Maybe they will return it in the future.

It was an experience beyond words... just soulful and hauntingly deep! And the work of art that it is speaks for itself. Worth a visit .

Stunning place. The chapel is dominant on the church and offers a nice view. It is also only accessible from the Palazzo reale so you need to buy the entrance ticket to access the place. It was a beautiful visit, especially with the little statue of Fabio Viale inside.

The Shroud of Turin (Italian: Sindone di Torino), also known as the Holy Shroud[ (Italian: Sacra Sindone or Santa Sindone), is a length of linen cloth bearing the negative image of a man. Some describe the image as depicting Jesus of Nazareth and believe the fabric is the burial shroud in which he was wrapped after crucifixion

Beautiful is all that comes to mind. Appreciate how it connects the cathedral to the royal palace and art museum. The contrasting colors of black and white marble make this room very distinguished.

An exceptional church with direct access from the Royal Palace and public church. Here the Shroud of Turin is encased in the alter. It is easily accessible for public viewing. In Bologna, researches created a three dimensional view of Jesus using the imagery from the Shroud. See photo. For those who follow the documentaries regarding the Shroud, it is truly amazing to be in its presence.
