Have been renting my skis here for years. Service is fast, courteous and skillful. They have a lot of variety of skis and they know what they are doing.

Overly Relaxed & Quite Pricy. We waited half an hour to get our skis even though we had pre booked on our 1st morning of skiing and were at the shop by 8.35am...neither man on duty was remotely hurried taking their time to serve another italian customer and tidy up the shop.. The other English family who came in just after us waited an hour & missed the start of their lesson...they were livid. When we dropped off the skis at the end of our week the shop was a disaster zone with skis and boots everywhere..a tour company had obviously just dropped theirs off....even though there were now no other customers we stood waiting again to have someone take our skis and check them back in but gave up after 10 minutes & just dumped them with all the others...the staff didnt seem to care. There several smaller cheaper independent places to get ski hire closer to the main Sorega lift. Avoid.

The mountainbikes we hired were of good quality. We were half an hour late for the half-day price but still didn't have to pay for a full day, which saved us a few bucks. We asked the guy at the reception for a fairly easy route but in reality it was a lot steeper and harder than we expected.

Overly relaxed I would agree with. We were served very quickly however perhaps not with the level of attention required to ensure well fitted equipment My one son was wrongly given a lower grade of skis than we had ordered - this was changed when we pointed it out. My boots were only VIP and didn’t have much padding but nobody asked if they were ok and I didn’t make a fuss - error no 1 on my part! When fitting the ski to the boot nobody asked about the type of skiing I do or my level of experience not did they check my weight as far as I know - due to Covid haven’t been skiing for 3 years so didn’t query this - mistake no2. On the morning of day 2 one ski came off when I was doing a simple turn on a blue slope - I fell but wasn’t hurt. I assumed I hadn’t pushed my ski on properly so reset, checked everything I could and went on. 20 mins later when traversing very slowly onto another simple bliue my left ski came off again. This time I fell and fractured my ankle. The snow and light was good, I was skiing well within my ability and I haven’t fallen for 15 years as I’m a cautious skier. Maybe it’s coincidence but next time I know I am going to make a fuss if my boots aren’t as supportive as I think they should be and I will ensure I have a good long conversation about my weight and experience before I take away my skis. I certainly wasn’t encouraged to do either of these things at Alta badia. They did give me a refund. I am however in plaster for at least the next 4 weeks and have spent 4 days in my apartment unable to go anywhere.
