Absolutely incredible meal with equally stunning views of Chianti. The owners and staff could not have been any nicer. Highly recommend their fried veggies straight from the garden and the tagliata! It was out of this world!

This is small hotels in the side-country of Italy, their main characteristic, is that they sell what they produce. Here you can try their wines and its run by a family so its really inviting. Views in this place are astonishing! Beware of beds, if you are a tall man, you might not fit in ?

I know the owners of Podere Casato from my work in the wine industry. When they purchased the property i had made a mental note to stay with them the next time it was convenient. Cheap fights to Rome, with plans to stay in Florence meant that a pitstop near Siena was worth exploring, and I am glad I did. First off, the property is splendid, peaceful, isolated without being far from the attractions of both Siena and the Chianti Classico region. Drop dead gorgeous views. The rooms were lovely, great AC, comfortable, and offering a perfect blend of casual rusticity with a romantic flair. the bathrooms were terrific. The pool, while cool for the first few minute, was a welcome respite from the heat of the Tuscan summer. All enough to recommend this property as worth a stay but the best was still to come. We stopped here on our first night in Italy to visit with owners, take a dip int he pool after our long flight, and have an easy meal steps from out doors before hitting the hay after an exhausting day. We did not expect the food to be at the level it was. Simply put dinner is reason enough to book a stay at Podere Casato. I worked as a professional chef for 2 decades. We just spent 2 weeks eating out way through Italy and France, and 3 out of 4 of us called Podere Casato’s gnocchi with truffles as our best dish of the trip. The fourth is a carnivore and wouldn’t recognize a good gnocchi if it bit him. Gnocchi that were impossibly light and delicate. Just a stunning dish, followed by terrific pastas with pigeon such, and argue. The bistecca was top notch as well, but OMG those gnocchi. Along with dinner we enjoyed the wines from the proprietors estate: Lecci e Brocchi, an up and coming producer of exceptional Chianti Classico whose wines are just beginning to get the recognition that they deserve. It’s a tiny, family run operation so might be hard to find but worth checking out. Of course you could just come here and enjoy the wines under the Tuscan sun with world class gnocchi, as they were meant to be enjoyed. Truly a terrific place, very special and well worth including in your travel plans. My eldest, 16 year old boy, has already asked when we are going back!

Beautiful place, spectacular views. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They produce their own wine which they sell as well. The food is nice although a bit heavy on the salt (I ordered pork which was a bit too salty and my husband had the same issue with spinach). Also a bit dry both the porks we ordered although cooked in different style. However they are trying hard with their food, you can tell that they are taking a twist on traditional cooking, for this reason I would go there again and really reccomend it.
