★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a wonderful experience at La Pietriccia. The food was amazing and our host, Stefano, is so very knowledgeable about food and the slow food movement. The farm is beautiful and the rooms clean and inviting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Pietriccia location and staff were beyond our expectations. We booked a gourmet walking tour (thanks to Travel Counsellors for finding this tour) and we enjoyed both parts equally right from our arrival in Chiancianco to the time we departed to head to Florence. The walks ranged from gentle ones through olive groves and vineyards to hard forrest treks and were studded with visits to medieval towns. The inclusion of a rest day at one of the local thermal springs was very welcome - that place has some challenging hills! We went back to visiting the autumn colours of farmlands with renewed legs - hooray! . Each day our fun and gracious host Stefano would provide us with an online map so we could not get off track and suggested alternatives to try if we wanted more or less kilometres. The service was so personalised we felt incredibly welcome. The breakfasts were lovely and the nighty four course meals wonderful - catering to vegetarian. We retired happy to our rustic rooms with well walked legs and happy tummies. It was quite sad to leave the place and lovely staff. If you go, you need to try the world award winning pizza at RE (Roberto Esposito). We would definitely go back again to visit Stefano and staff and eat more pizza!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent centre for exploring local countryside by cycle. Stefano Mazzetti is so knowledgeable about the cycling routes to follow and his staff are all so obliging. The food I'd top class and the bedroom is clean and comfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this agroturismo the last two weeks of October this year. The service and quality of food was outstanding. Stefano was extremely accommodating to all our inquires regarding the area and went above and beyond his duty to ensure we had the most positive experience possible. I would highly recommend this hotel. Our stay included breakfast and a 4 course meal every evening. It was a busy time for the farm with olive harvesting in full production mode but we never felt our experience was abbreviated in any way. Our package included a self guided walking tour (6 days), cooking class and wine tasting. Everything was top notch. The tour company who supplied the instructions for the walks did a very poor job with the written details of our daily excursions. Realizing this thru past experiences, I’m sure, Stefano had several smart phones equipped with the GPS instructions of our daily destinations - along with many other options if the one designated for that day did not suit our needs. Another redeeming quality of Stefano and all the people we encountered at the hotel was their passion for their farm, community, and everything produced on the farm. We really felt we had a true taste os Tuscany both literally and figuratively. This was a highlight of our trip to Italy.

A perfect spot to base yourself to explore the local area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Outstanding place to stay, our room was with ample appointments, very clean, not overly fancy but very comfortable. Our view looking over their vineyard and old town was a five star experience. The food, breakfast and dinner were the best we experienced in our five week stay in Italy. Very convenient to all Tuscany has to offer. Excellent host and staff, highly recommend this location.

1. This is a great base if you want to explore Tuscany in each direction
2. It is agritourism (it is quiet), but you also have a city close (shops, ATM)
3. Large rooms and spacious bathroom
4. Cleanliness and cleaning service are at the highest level here
5. The breakfasts were plentiful, varied, rich in local and homemade products,
6. Cordial and friendly owners who advised what to visit depending on the weather conditions.
I highly recommend it.
