AC Hotel by Marriott Bologna

Good hotel, very helpful and responsive staff. Good breakfast with social distancing and good hygiene. They helped us a lot with our travels and bookings and went out of their way to help us organise the next leg of our tour. The rooms do not have tea making facilities and I felt that this was a real drawback as if you arrive late into the hotel, they do not have room service and there is nowhere to even get a hot drink. I requested a kettle but was only given a small teapot with luke warm water! A kettle and tea/coffee making facility would make the rooms even more convenient.

If you are visiting from the US, this hotel will be very familiar to you. The service was great and I like that I was able to use the app for booking and check in.

Not up to standard Maintenance issues, several times no electricity, water outage and brown water When looking close one can see maintenance is missing Rooms are clean, staff is friendly but asking for the room number in the restaurant is more important than a simple good morning Not what one would expect from a Marriott property

I can say that an overall experience in Ac Hotel Marriott in Bologna is very good. Quite a good location - the hotel is situated close to the central station, but it is also near the city center (20 mins by walk, 10 mins by bike, 10 mins by bus). There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, which can make your stay in Bologna easier. Hotel itself is very well curated, rooms are very warm, which for me was an absolute plus in winter. Also it is very VERY silent in the night, both inside and outside of the hotel (my room faced the park). Breakfasts are good and fresh, with different salumi, cheese, omelette and pastries. Staff is also quite helpful and friendly. What for me an my partner was a minus was an extreme hardness of the mattress and pillows, which gave us back pain in the days we stayed in the Hotel. We asked on the reception for another softer (feather) pillow and it was given to us without any problem, and it made our sleep slightly better.

Clean rooms and good pillows. But the room was extremely hot and stuffy and the air conditioning did not work (it was not broken but just not set to really cool sufficiently). I had to open the window for air but if your room faces the main street then it'd be too noisy to keep the window open to sleep.

we lived here for 4 nights. 2 nights with the uncomfortable feeling. we have change 3 rooms on the first night. The first room did not have cold water and the water was too small to take a shower. The second room was even worse, the water was dripping. In the end, we change to the third room, but apparently, they have water problems for the whole building. The second night was another problem with the heater, which was too warm. The hotel didn't pay for any compensation or even a proper sorry for causing any inconvenience. Very bad service, very bad facility. Will never recommend it.

I have stayed here twice, both times for just one night and I'm not sure why I went back. The hotel itself is fine. Typical AC hotel, modern, minimalist, which I like. There are several problems with the hotel though which I was reminded of this last stay. 1, the bathroom looks great but is not functional at all. Water everywhere. The glass counters with integrated sinks just aren't deep enough and so water goes everywhere. The shower head is also low quality so the water goes everywhere. In short if you use the bathroom water is going to go everywhere. 2, no air conditioning - which sucks when it is hot. It wasn't really hot outside, but it was hot inside and the AC wouldn't turn on (same as last time I stayed there). The heater would turn on and it was evident that the previous guest had tried to use the AC and had a similar experience. Not sure how this is a good idea in an international hotel where guests are used to having AC. 3, the staff - they seem to think that you are privileged to stay at the hotel, instead of feeling that it is their pleasure to have you stay there. There is an arrogance of the staff and they are not helpful. They don't answer the phone when you call down to the front desk. They treat you like an inconvenience. I had forgotten about this, but I was reminded as I stayed again. I am lifetime titanium elite with Marriott which is why I default to stay at this hotel (I think its the only Marriott in Bologna) but I am going to have to find another hotel brand to stay it when I go back, because the AC is not a great place to stay and the staff was so not helpful. I didn't make any complaints (although I tried to ask questions, but they wouldn't answer the phone for over 20 minutes) and my overall experience was very disappointing.

Stayed here for one night it was good. Staff was friendly and it has what you need. It’s about a 30 min walk to the center center of the city so it’s not near downtown. I am a titanium plat member and they did give a money vouch for about one free drink per person. And they did upgrade my room from what I booked which was good. The drinks in the hotel bar were about 8€ per person which is normal for hotels I guess. Parking in the street is free but if you wanna park in garage you will have to pay. Not a bad experience a normal AC Marriott. I would maybe stay here again.
