★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not much of a market. Went there on sunday afternoon and again on Monday afternoon. Maybe we were too late for the action. Instead I would recommend Ballarò market. Small but nice fruit and veg market with other stuff like shoes too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is interesting place to visit, but I would not advise to buy anything there. We ordered half a spleen sandwich (just to try it) and two beers. Someone who brought them to us from the inside of the establishment left without taking any payment. We could have left but we decided to go in as said we were not charged. There was another person there and said: ok, 10 euro, without even asking what we bought (and that would have been much cheaper) or offering us a proof of purchase.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whatever you do, do not go to the place called 'Da Andrea il Figlio del Polparo della Vucciria', they will rip you off. Or if you do eat there, pay up front (though they will not offer it, so you'll need to insist). If you pay at the end, they will overcharge you quite a bit.
Our specific case: we ordered 'frittura mista', they weighted it and told us its 8.5 EURs and that we can pay at the end. When we indeed went to pay they suddenly said that it's 20 EURs (which is a ridicuolus price in itself, totally unrealistic). There was no choice, we had to pay this overcharged price.
