★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous small hotel/B&B near the central Piazza in this ancient City. You'll experience excellent hospitality and an elegant petit dejeuner here. The hotel was built out in 2015 inside the shell of a very old building on Via Porto all' Arco which ends at a 5th century BC gate to the Etruscan City. Our only fault with this lodging is the size of our room with walls within 15 inches of two sides of the double bed and not much more on the third side. The bathroom, on the other hand, was spacious....certainly big enough. Very modern, nicely furnished, and an excellent value. With just a little more space easily 5 stars. While the breakfast is also to be commended, the dining area is a bit crowded too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can’t really fault it. It’s a 3-star hotel with 3-star prices. It’s spotlessly clean, the people are helpful and pleasant to deal with and the breakfast is more than you’d expect for somewhere at this price-point. Maybe this is obvious, but don’t try and drive directly here, aim for the car park nearby and whatever you do don’t drive through the walled city, unless you want a scratched car, a fine and the experience of old Italian men shaking their fist in your direction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the moment we arrived we were delighted with everything. The welcome was warm, the accommodation is superb. Real hospitality, really wonderful pillows, Tea making facilites (so very rare in Italy) in room. If you are visiting Volterra, please stay here if you want the best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent and very recent hotel, perfectly located in the heart of Volterra. Kind personnel, you see how much they care about their guests. Rooms provide all comfort and are very spacious. Definitely a perfect stay. And how not to mentioning their incredible breakfast? Best breakfast I have had so far not only in 3 but even 4-stars hotels in Italy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend this hotel - it’s a three star that punches above its weight. Our room was recently renovated and very clean and comfortable. The location is awesome - you’re steps from the famous 2,500 year old gate of Volterra and everything else. The breakfast was exceptionally hearty for a very small price. Check in was a breeze as the lady at the front desk spoke amazing English and was very nice.
As a side note - the best way to arrive is by car and to park at P1. I wouldn’t advise driving to the front door.
