M	Michal Grabarczyk on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The booth at the Dock was closed and I had to turn around to buy the ticket. Another ticket office (or actually ticket machines) is 2km away, but to go there by car you need to drive ~10km, because it's at the exit of the highway. So I'd recommend to buy ticket there right away. Address is the following: Terminal - Ticketing C&T, Viale Umberto Zanotti Bianco, 89018 Villa San Giovanni RC, Italy. I also tried to buy ticket online via android app recommended by staff at the Dock, but after filling dozens of fields I couldn't make a payment... Other than that boarding was very smooth. There's bar on board with some snacks and sweets. Prices are surprisingly good. I paid 2.5eur for a thick slice of pizza :)
I	Iga on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We used the ferry with a regular (less than 5m length) car on Friday afternoon, bought the ticket with return within 3 days for 46euro. Prices deoend on the size of the car and whenever you are going back and when. A single way I believe costs a bit less than 40euro and forth and back within 7 days 70+. Everything went smoothly, we bought ticket at the booth before entering a lane to the ferry and followed the directions which Google maps pointed. Then with no queues nor traffic at all, we parked on the ferry and it left almost immediately with still some empty parking space left. You can then leave the car and enjoy views on the upper deck. The ride took around 25-30 min and then also smoothly all the cars drove out.
M	M on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quick and a bit confusing for HGVs I ended up blocking a telepass lane trying to book in barrier wouldn't lift but no panic a member of staff lifted the barrier and set me right into the ticket office and you get tickets printed all straight forward staff speak basic English so no drama. Tight little bridge to pass under boarding the boat. If your running low lift all air on truck before the ramp or you may hear a crunch..
E	Earthen NYC on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly I don’t get the bad reviews. Drive straight to the boat harbor. There’s a booth where u can purchase the ticket. 38€ one way. 30 min boat ride there’s a lounge and a deck where you can hang. I’ll say they should build a bridge but this isn’t that bad. Fairly straight forward.

K	Ken Shaw on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Obviously a bridge should be built from San Giovanni to Messina. But it won't be. So this is what it is: A fast and decent ferry ride to get you on and off the island. And it's fine. BUY THE TICKET IN ADVANCE. There is a rest stop on the freeway that sells them. And on line. The water is clear and fun to look at. For first timers, a great way to enter Sicily and Messina. It's a ferry. Not cheap, not too expensive, either. Sicily is a pretty inexpensive state, so it's all good.

As you know, Sicily is an island and, so far, there is no bridge to connect Sicily to the rest of the continent. At Villa San Giovanni you can get the ferry and it will take about 20 minutes. As tradition, on the ferry boat we had an “arancino”, even if, frankly, it didn't drive us crazy. We will certainly eat another one as soon as we arrive in our Messina. ☺️??⛴

The water was beautiful as always - Morgan Le Fay was giving us her best! I love the fast boarding and ease of buying tickets online… get the app!! Get a Telepass! Don’t wait until you get there to get the tickets!!
