★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nella Via della Luce si trova la chiesa di Santa Maria della Luce, nel rione Trastevere. (Oggi era chiusa).
Anticamente si chiamava "San Salvatore in Corte", fondata da santa Bonosa nel IV secolo presso l'excubitorium (acquartieramento) della "VII coorte dei vigili", il corpo per la protezione dagli incendi dislocato da Augusto nelle 14 regioni in cui Roma era stata divisa.
Nello stesso secolo Papa Giulio I elevò la chiesa al rango di parrocchia.
Nel 1728 la bolla papale di Papa Benedetto XIII insediò nella chiesa i Padri Minimi dell'ordine di San Francesco di Paola.
L'attuale nome della chiesa si deve ad una serie di miracoli che si verificarono nel 1730 legati ad un'immagine dipinta sulla parete esterna di una casa nelle vicinanze, che venne vista brillare di luce propria. L'immagine venne quindi trasferita nella chiesa, che cambiò la propria denominazione con quella attuale.
Dal 2003 la chiesa è sede della missione latinoamericana (eretta con decreto dal Cardinal Vicario Ugo Poletti nel settembre 1996 a servizio dei migranti latinoamericani residenti nella Diocesi di Roma), affidata ai Padri Scalabriniani.
La Missione offre molti servizi alle collettività latinoamericane che vanno dal sociale al religioso, dai bisogni di formazione all'inserimento graduale e positivo nel territorio. Le celebrazioni avvengono nelle lingue dei migranti, in particolare i giovedì in lingua portoghese e spagnolo.
La domenica, alle 12.00 in lingua spagnola, alle 17.00 in lingua portoghese per la comunità brasiliana, Nossa Senhora Aparecida.

In the same century, Pope Julius I raised the church to the rank of parish.
In 1728 the papal bull of Pope Benedict XIII installed the Minimal Fathers of the order of San Francesco di Paola in the church.
The current name of the church is due to a series of miracles that occurred in 1730 linked to an image painted on the external wall of a nearby house, which was seen to shine with its own light. The image was then transferred to the church, which changed its name to the current one.
Since 2003, the church has been the seat of the Latin American mission (erected by decree by Cardinal Vicar Ugo Poletti in September 1996 to serve Latin American migrants residing in the Diocese of Rome), entrusted to the Scalabrinian Fathers.
The Mission offers many services to Latin American communities ranging from social to religious, from training needs to gradual and positive integration into the territory. The celebrations take place in the languages of the migrants, especially on Thursdays in Portuguese and Spanish.
On Sundays, at 12.00 in Spanish, at 17.00 in Portuguese for the Brazilian community, Nossa Senhora Aparecida.
