The lady who is in charge of the office robbed us our caution. Lying and lying and then laughting of our detress. Very sad experience.

BEWARE OF THE LATE CHECK-IN POLICY. THEY DECIDE IF YOU CAN CHECK-IN LATE OR NOT (and if you don't ask nicely, will use that to blackmail you), AND CHARGE A 50 EUR CASH FEE. I booked on airbnb. The listing said "self check-in", but at the bottom of the page they indicated check-in after 7:30pm was at their discretion and subject to a fee. I had not seen that. A few hours after the expiration of the free cancellation period, they messaged me to arrange check-in and notified me about the 50 EUR late check-in fee they wanted paid in cash. I complained on the basis that the listing was incorrect, as this was clearly not "self check in" and that waiting for the end of the cancellation period to notify me about the fee was disingenuous. They reacted to my complaints by pretending that in the end no one was available for a late check-in (while they were offering it to arrange it just a few hours before), and that I could only check-in the following day (losing the first of my 2 night booking). I had to cancel and lost half the value of the booking, plus a lot of time dealing with them and airbnb support (which were much more helpful and offered me a coupon to make up for this). Would not recommend at all.

I have rented an apartment from them for 1.5 years now. They have been extremely responsive, friendly, and up-front with everything. Laura is particularly great - she always responds quickly and completely. The apartment I rented is in a great location, nicely furnished, and as promised. When there have been small technical problems, they've come immediately to remedy them. The experience has been great, and basically carefree. They are also centrally located in Venice in Campo Santo Stefano and easy to reach from anywhere. I don't have experience with other agencies in Venice, but my experience with Cera has been great.

Exceptional experience with everyone at Ve.N.I.Ce. from the first contact through the finalisation of handing over the key and security deposit return. Their professionalism and knowledge was instrumental to the incredible experience of living in Venice for short-term. They were supportive from immediately responding to questions about the apartment to recommendations of *hidden gems" within Venice that only the residents know. I can't say enough nice things about the company, especially Ms. Zanette and recommend Ve.N.I.Ce without any reservations.

Be aware - a handover protocol is nothing worth there.... I rented an apartment in Venice from the 25th February till the 26th of June 2021. It was a really nice apartment, the price was reasonable. I had a good time there and the Agency was professional in communication and everything. When I moved out there was thorough inspection of the apartment which lasted about 90 minutes (for a 50 sqm apartment). The girl of the agency checked everything, counted the glasses, inspected the matress and so on.) Everything was fine and I got my handover protocol which told me anything is fine. I moved out on the 26th of June and moved out three days earlier as a courtesy because the agency asked me if I could leave earlier as the in-laws of the owner wanted to stay a weekend in Venice. I agreed as I had a good experience and was happy until then. So I moved out and waited for my final balance - as I had to pay a deposit of one months rent. On the 18th of November 2021! about 5 Months after I left the apartment I got my final balance and got 200 Euro's deducted for scratches in the kitchens countertop. I left the apartment, the kitchen countertop was fine and in exactly the same state I got it. I had an handover protocol and five months were gone since I moved out! I wrote this to the people of the Agency: their answer was "I have spoken also with the hostess who did the check-out, who said that at the check-out the surface was dirty and she thought it was just dirt." I had to laugh out loud - we inspected the apartment for more then 90 minutes - I cleaned the kitchen with a friend so it was perfect... and they spoke with the girl 5 months after I moved out... she could remember very well - for sure( irony off). She would have had complained immediately as she saw the smallest things. Long story short - the agency told me Italian law is different - my move out protocol is not relevant, the owner needed 5 months to tell them... and other things... They told me I have to write to the owner and explain the matter to them - I said I have no relationship with the owner I explained my point clearly you could tell this the owner. they refused and asked that I write a begging mail directly to him, which I refused. If the agency think that is ok, to ignore their own handover protocol and ask 5 months after I moved out for damages, when between June and November a lot of other people lived in the apartment, and then tell me Italian law is different - sorry then I feel tricked. Sorry - but I still love Venice - this was my only bad experience.
