Trattasi di 23 manufatti marmorei o sarcofagi caduti in acqua durante il naufragio di una nave romana avvenuto intorno al III secolo d.C. Non ci sono punti di riferimento né sulla spiaggia né in acqua, perciò l'unico modo per orientarsi è posizionarsi in corrispondenza del segna posto collocato su Google Maps. Si trovano a circa 120 metri dalla riva a una profondità variabile tra i 4 e i 5 metri. La loro profondità e visibilità dipende dalle mareggiate che spostano la sabbia del fondale e che può coprirli o scoprirli a seconda del caso. Nelle vicinanze è stata anche inserita una targa descrittiva dei manufatti ma, a meno che non riesca a trattenere il fiato per più di 5 minuti, risulterà di difficile lettura. Io e mio marito avevamo provato a cercarle tre anni fa senza successo perché, come ora, non sono segalate. Fortunatamente questa volta, la settimana prima di vederle, avevamo trovato i Carabinieri sul sito che probabilmente stavano "spolverando" le vasche e da lì la decisione di tornare. L'impressione é che nessuno sappia del patrimonio storico inabissato a pochi metri dalla riva. Do solo 4 stelle perché il sito non é segnalato in superficie e, anche se a portata di mano, risulta difficile da trovare. Per il resto merita davvero una visita, sensazione impagabile. Dopo due ore di avanti e indietro ho trovato solo la targa : si trova a 15/20 metri prima della boa rossa e tra le finestre della casa bianca e quella verde ...praticamente vi mettete in mezzo alle due case dalla spiaggia e tirate dritto tenendole come riferimento . Una volta trovata la targa a 2 mt di profondità in essa e raffigurata una piccola mappa dove vi viene detto dove siete voi rispetto alle tombe . Ho fatto anche una ricognizione con il drone non le ho trovate nonostante vedessi benissimo il fondale .Non mi resta che pensare che allo stato attuale come leggo da altre recensioni siano state completamente sommerse dalla sabbia causa correnti . Molto male il comune della zona ...bisogna segnalare e salvaguardare questi reperti ..sono la nostra storia ..non lasciare che il mare li sotterri . Spero di esservi stato utile !!
