S	Sergio Cherubini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antica Torre dodecagonale edificata in tre epoche distinte: il basamento fino al primo piano risale al 1050 ed è costruito con grandi blocchi di pietra in parte recuperati da scavi romani. La parte centrale risale al 1200, i blocchi si rimpiccioliscono, compaiono bifore e trifore cieche. L'ultimo piano risale al 1700, così come le campane. La torre è alta circa 30 metri con una circonferenza di 31 metri. Per risalirla c'è una stretta scala a chiocciola di 95 gradini interrotta da due grandi pianerottoli, in passato utilizzati come prigioni o come sedi del consiglio degli anziani. All'interno della scalinata ed all'esterno della torre si possono notare dei blocchi decorati con bassorilievi recuperati da altre opere di epoca romana e bizantina. In cima ci sono 5 campane del 1700 ed il panorama è notevole. Nel penultimo piano è conservato il meccanismo dell'orologio. La scala che risale la torre è molto stretta e bassa in alcuni punti, potrebbe essere problematica per le persone alte o per chi soffre di claustrofobia. La guida è stata bravissima e simpatica. Il costo del biglietto è irrisorio: solo 3 euro. Da visitare Ancient dodecagonal tower built in three distinct periods: the base up to the first floor dates back to 1050 and is built with large stone blocks partly recovered from Roman excavations. The central part dates back to 1200, the blocks get smaller, double and triple mullioned windows appear. The top floor dates back to 1700, as well as the bells. The tower is about 30 meters high with a circumference of 31 meters. To go up it there is a narrow spiral staircase of 95 steps interrupted by two large landings, in the past used as prisons or as seats of the council of elders. Inside the staircase and outside the tower you can see some blocks decorated with bas-reliefs recovered from other works of the Roman and Byzantine era. At the top there are 5 bells from the 1700s and the view is remarkable. The clock mechanism is kept on the penultimate floor. The staircase that goes up the tower is very narrow and low in some places, it could be problematic for tall people or for those suffering from claustrophobia. The guide was very good and nice. The cost of the ticket is negligible: only 3 euros. To visit
