Con lo stesso biglietto si possono visitare altro monumenti e il museo archeologico. Amelia è un vero gioiello, temuta molto bene , possiede un centro storico ricco di testimonianze antiche..bellissimi gli edifici civili con vari portali bugnati e le mura antiche. Evocative place, composed of a set of vaulted rooms from the Roman era. With the same ticket you can visit other monuments and the archaeological museum. Amelia is a real gem, very well feared , has a historic center full of ancient testimonies .. beautiful civil buildings with various ashlar portals and ancient walls.

La ragazza presente molto brava a spiegare la struttura romana e la sua storia. Unico neo e la ridotta area visitabile a causa della restrizioni covid. Very suggestive place that is worth a visit if you are in Amelia. The ticket also includes the museum. The girl present very good at explaining the Roman structure and its history. Una volta costruita con le sue volte in conglomerato, servì da sostegno di una parte del Foro romano. Prima di scendere la moderna scala d'accesso il personale fornisce una esauriente spiegazione sul manufatto. Interesting and impressive underground hydraulic work of Roman Ameria, dating back to the 1st century AD, with considerable dimensions: about 60 x 20 m and 6 in height, divided into 10 rooms. Once built with its conglomerate vaults, it served as support for a part of the Roman Forum. Before going down the modern access stairs, the staff provides a comprehensive explanation of the artifact.
p	podere agrituristico luchiano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo posto, da visitare assolutamente! Debbo però fare un piccolo appunto. Ho portato degli ospiti sabato 27 novembre alle 11 ed era chiuso. Purtroppo in questo periodo maledetto sono solo visitabili solo 3 sale delle 10, ma l'importanza della sua ingegneria idraulica ne rende obbligatoria la visita. Guida molto disponibile e preparata. The cisterns are located in the main square of Amelia. Unfortunately in this cursed period only 3 rooms out of 10 can be visited, but the importance of its hydraulic engineering makes it mandatory to visit. Very helpful and prepared guide.

Esse servivano per raccogliere l'acqua piovana attraverso un sistema di tombini in superficie che approvvigionava l'intera città, tramite dei pozzi pubblici e privati, non essendo Amelia dotata di altre fonti di acqua. Si può comunque comprare il biglietto cumulativo da 7 euro e con quello visitare non solo le Cisterne ma anche Palazzo Petrignani e il museo archeologico. La vista è breve, viene richiesto ovviamente il green pass per entrare e di indossare un caschetto di protezione. The visit is interesting, too bad due to covid, only 3 of the 9 Roman cisterns are open. The view is short, obviously the green pass is required to enter and to wear a protective helmet.

Although an ancient cistern, an old place to hold a population's water, it had a creepy vibe the more you explored underground which made it really fun for me since I wasn't alone. They do art events in there too! It was an overall cool experience.
