Perfettamente incastonata tra le mura della Cittadina ne è l'ingresso principale, da qui inizia via della Repubblica che attraversa quasi interamente il Centro storico.
Definitely the most beautiful and imposing of Amelia's doors.
Perfectly set between the walls of the town is the main entrance, from here begins via della Repubblica which almost entirely crosses the historic center.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imponente! È l'ingresso principale alla città antica di Amelia, completamente circondata da mura. Vi sono altre porte ma questa è la principale e a mio avviso la più bella.
Imposing! It is the main entrance to the ancient city of Amelia, completely surrounded by walls. There are other doors but this is the main one and in my opinion the most beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Port Romana is the main entrance to the historic centre of Amelia. A beautiful archway and Old wooden doors that are only closed for a few hours once each year in August then opened with great fanfare with a historic reenactment of a visit of a Roman official bringing the town charter. The porta is well maintained and can be quite busy with traffic. There is parking near by and several places to grab a snack.
