Overprized, charged 320 euro for a small portion of fish. Unfriendly service. Tourist trap !

Nice place in the centre of otranrto. Staff (particularly one waiter's behaviour can improve). Food was good

Food was good, with a good taste, and well cooked. We had “bombette pugliesi” and “polpo in pignatta” both the dishes were great 4/5!! However, the staff who served us had huge lack in experience and sometimes manners. The waiter who welcomed us was complaining about other customers just because they asked to switch table, then it starts raining and some of the rain came through the roof ? not the kind of dinner I would have normally.

One of the best restaurants I have tried in the 10 days I have been in Otranto. A sweet little place with a lovely atmosphere and great patio seating. It is just off the main streets so it is a bit quieter - which is great. The food is excellent. They have wonderful selections of meat and seafood. Everything is very fresh. Highly recommended.

Waiters recommendation is a mafia-style rip-off: Yesterday we had dinner at the Terra Nostra restaurant. Unfortunately we followed the waiters' recommendation and had linguine with the 'catch of the day' - a local fish that is sold for 60€ per kilo. The waiter brought the fish to our table minutes before the linguine arrived - so it already cooled down a bit. The table next to ours had the exact same dish and was served the fish directly after we got ours. The difference was that their fish was filleted right away while our fish was sitting on the table and we still had to wait. After our pasta arrived the waiter wanted to leave and we had to ask him to fillet our fish as well. When he did it - halfhearted - he put a maximum of 50g of fish on our plates (each). We managed to get a little more pieces out of the fish sitting on the table but didn't exceed 100g of eatable fish in total (each). After receiving the bill of 80€ for the fish we spoke with the waiter and told him that we were certainly not served a 1.4kg fish regarding the little eatable pieces. What followed was a soap opera: The waiter came back with a scale and a raw fish. He put it on the scale - showed us the result and said that ours - of course - was bigger. I told him that we were just served half a fish and that a good amout of the tail was not on our plate. Also I compared the poor amout of fish pieces with the fish that was served on the table next to us and that they must have noticed the difference but still: No regrets whatsoever. So we paid the bill and left. Conclusion: The starters were good (antipasto crudo and antipasto terra nostre). The main course was a desaster (overpriced, flavourless and the fish was overcooked). Also the waiters reaction was more than strange giving us a bad feeling. They should feel ashamed for ripping off tourists and charging a big amount of fish while serving a small amount. That brings mafia methods to mind where fruit is sold as type A quality but really is a type B product. It's a pitty.

The best place I've eaten in my 8 day adventure in Puglia. This was recommended by the owner of the B&B I stayed at (Sandro) and I'm usually cynical of recommendations like that but I took the plunge. The food was home cooked and served to perfection, the ambience and place itself was very nice, it had that trendy feel to it but without being pretentious. I had the orecchiette Leccese and the home made panna cotta which when I asked was made by their mother..perfect!! House wine was perfectly good too. All in all a very nice place for local food!

Good selection of food items. I had a lightly cooked tuna steak on a small bed of shredded raw red cabbage and a mixed salad. Both were very good. The dry white wine was also quite tasty. For dessert I had the artistically prepare Tiramisù (see photo). Very friendly wait personnel. The restaurant also has a selection of fresh whole fish specialties, made to order.
