Gorgeous train station. To get to the city you need to take the bus that stops in front of the station

Beautiful station! At dawn the view and the sound of the sea are just dreamy. It is also beautifully decorated. A rare gem of the Italian raliway architecture.

It's okay, just not pleased that there wasn't a place to leave luggage at the station. Luckily the tourist information officer was knowledgeable and helpful to recommend a nearby hotel that took our luggage for €5 per bag. The station is beautiful by the way, clean and lots of seating area.

The man behind the counter is as useless as he is arrogant. After buying tickets from the automatic machine, 45 minutes of delay on our train were announced. In Italy that means the next train will depart earlier than the one you have ticket for. Going to the counter to have a refund or at least explanations, the “man” behind the counter, in a very arrogant way said “you should have bought them here instead of the machine, now you can only keep them”, with hands firmly stuck inside his pockets. Which is ridiculous since the first thing you see coming from Taormina old city are actually the machine and you would never go all the way inside the station to ask for ticket when you find a free machine first. Everything could have ended in shrugging shoulders, instead there was a little man trying to make a point of a pointless and dysfunctional situation and service

Surprisingly interesting train station. It's very well kept and clean, and gives the impression you enter a museum instead of a station. They showcase a few artifacts from the Roman era and walls and ceiling are beautifuly decorated and rich in detail. Also the lighting and chandeliers are worthwhile inspecting. There's a bar in the same building that has all the necessities for a quick breakfast or coffee on the go. So even if you don't take train, this is a place worth visiting.

5 stars for the person who takes care of the little garden on the track. It's so cute, quiet and I took my time to appreciate it while waiting for the train. ♥️
