It was not only an unforgettable experience to SUP through the Venice canals, but our tour leader was fun, so patient, encouraging, kind and knowledgeable. (I wish I remembered her name! She is an awesome, well-spoken young Italian woman studying Political philosophy and made me laugh and think as I paddled). Afterwards, she also gave me restaurant recommendations which ended up being among the best food I ate in Italy and away from all the tourist traps. Thank you for making Venice so memorable and fun!

Next time I'm hoping to bring my own board and explore the channels. It does get more complicated not knowing the exact rules and where you're allowed without going on a tour first. Our guide was a gem! He even took some great shots.

When we learned about this tour service, we splurged and booked this unique option. We were thrilled that they had space for our relatively last-minute booking, and that the price was not insignificant but reasonable enough (a bit less than a typical gondola ride) at €70 per person for 90 minutes. We had a lot of fun paddling the canals, but we wished that our guide was more knowledgeable and forthcoming about the area. He was a very nice person, but spent more time talking about himself rather than the beautiful places we were paddling through. For the price, we were hoping for a more guided/educational experience. Additionally, the route seemed a bit less than inspired. This could have been a limitation of weather or a result of municipal restrictions, but it did seem that there were much nicer spots along the canals that we saw walking the same neighbourhoods than we experienced on our tour. We also ended up paddling the same canal twice and I think this is because our group was moving quickly and our guide needed to repeat an area so that we wouldn't finish early. Overall it was a fun experience and certainly something we will not forget, but there is room to improve!
