★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been vacationing in the Alps for dozens of years but this definitely beats every other place. The mountains are gorgeous. It's right at the foot of one of Italy's highest mountains, the majestic Ortles. The lower valley surroundings are also worth the visit with some ancient castles and towns such as Glorenza. Do visit the 13th century tiny church, the Messner museum with his yaks, and the lovely woodsmith's little shop (and buy one of his bowls, they make you happy just holding them and breathing them in!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, convenient for skiing/boarding as next to lifts, no bus trip required depending on where you're staying. Has some nice shops for clothes (mode point) and food/souvenirs/sports acc. (especially cheeses and stag salami). Has cross cointry tracks, hiking paths. Apres ski and great hotels/apartments.
