E	Ezio Scoppetta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una delle chicche di questa magnifica parte alta della città.Prima della costruzione del Duomo era la chiesa più importante della città, sul luogo sin dal 1291 c'era una Cappella dedicata a San Giovanni. Nel 1467 fu avanzata la facciata è cos truito il chiostro quadrato.L'abside della chiesa é la Cappella funeraria dei Marchesi di Saluzzo . Costruita tra il 1450 e il 1504 é la testimonianza di una delle più importanti opere scultoree del territorio. Imponente il campanile eretto nel 1376, a pianta quadrata, articolato su 5 piani. Sulla facciata un imponente dipinto di San Cris toforo dipinto nel 1929. One of the gems of this magnificent high part of the city. Before the construction of the Duomo it was the most important church in the city, on the site since 1291 there was a chapel dedicated to St. John. In 1467 it was advanced the facade is so truito the square cloister. The apse of the church is the funerary chapel of the Marquises of Saluzzo. Built between 1450 and 1504 is the testimony of one of the most important sculptural works of the territory. Imposing the bell tower erected in 1376, with a square plan, articulated on 5 floors. On the façade an imposing painting by San Cris toforo painted in 1929.

Magnificent church ... it seems to be in a church from ? with the entrance higher than the floor of the church and with the staircase going down.
M	Marco B (maurilio86) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Giovanni è a mio avviso la chiesa più bella di Saluzzo. In pieno stile gotico fu la chiesa principale della città fino al 1500. Assolutamente da approfondire la visita all'abside, che denota il profondo legame tra il Ducato di Saluzzo ed il regno di Francia. Qui lo stile Gotico raggiunge pienamente quello transalpino grazie alla maestria di Benedetto Briosco. Molto interessante il chiosco, ma oramai gli affreschi sono quasi del tutto perduti. Da esso si accede ad un'ulteriore tomba monumentale, che andava a sfidare la bellezza delle tombe savoiarde, in modo da sottolineare che Saluzzo non ci stava nell'aver perso la propria libertà a favore dei Savoia. The church of San Giovanni is in my opinion the most beautiful church in Saluzzo. In full gothic style it was the main church of the city until 1500. A visit to the apse, which denotes the deep bond between the Duchy of Saluzzo and the kingdom of France, is absolutely worth exploring. Here the Gothic style fully reaches the transalpine one thanks to the skill of Benedetto Briosco. The kiosk is very interesting, but the frescoes are now almost completely lost. From it you can access a further monumental tomb, which challenged the beauty of the Savoyard tombs, in order to underline that Saluzzo was not there in having lost its freedom in favor of the Savoy.
S	Stefania Massa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo davvero stupendo. Si accede al suo ingresso scendendo dal piano strada alcuni gradini che permettono l'ingresso alla navata della chiesa. L'interno della chiesa è davvero molto suggestivo, le alte volte e gli affreschi alle pareti ti permettono di vivere per un momento in un'altra epoca... se poi capiti nel momento giusto dove non c'è nessuno, e il silenzio ti suggestiona e si crea il gioco di luci giuste...bhe allora ti senti davvero in un altro mondo. Luogo a mio parere molto mistico. Merita una visita anche il chiostro, molto ben tenuto. Possibilità di ristoro e di utilizzo dei servizi igienici posti in un angolo del chiostro. Possibilità di visita guidata. Really gorgeous place. Its entrance is accessed by going down from the street level a few steps that allow entry to the nave of the church. The interior of the church is really very impressive, the high vaults and the frescoes on the walls allow you to live for a moment in another era ... then if you happen at the right moment where there is no one, and the silence impresses you and the right play of lights is created ... well then you really feel in another world. In my opinion, a very mystical place. The well-kept cloister is also worth a visit. Possibility of refreshment and use of the toilets placed in a corner of the cloister. Possibility of guided tour.

O	Oleg Naumov on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendid Dominican Church built in 1320 at the place where old Chapel already existed since 1230. There are splendid frescoes of XV century survived inside the church and cloister. In ambulatory you are going to find splendid tomb of Marquis Ludovico II of Saluzzo (1438-1504) the man who lost the Battle of Garigliano to Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba better known as "El Gran Capitan" in 1503. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod.

The church itself is a beautiful peaceful haven: not that Saluzzo isn’t itself such a place. Mass is at 6pm on Saturdays and 11.30am on Sundays.
