Dista circa 16 km dal capoluogo, Lecce, e fa parte della Grecìa Salentina, isola linguistica del Salento in cui si parla un idioma di origine greca, il griko. E' un bel paese, accogliente e merita una bella visita. Interessanti le sue antiche chiese e il Palazzo Granafei. Inoltre Porta Filìa, (porta dell'amicizia e della pace), insieme al tratto di mura adiacente. Le mura furono costruite nel 1540
Sternatìa (Starnaìtta or simply Chóra in Griko) is an Italian town in the province of Lecce in Puglia.
It is about 16 km from the capital, Lecce, and is part of the Grecìa Salentina, a linguistic island of Salento where an idiom of Greek origin is spoken, the griko. It is a beautiful, welcoming country and deserves a nice visit. Its ancient churches and Palazzo Granafei are interesting. Furthermore Porta Filìa, (door of friendship and peace), together with the adjacent stretch of walls. The walls were built in 1540
