Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia

Beautiful, nicely organized train station named Santa Lucia in Venice provides all the comfort to passengers. It is located at the western end of the Grand Canal, in the Cannaregio district. Not far from Piazzale Roma, where the bus station and tram station are located. From this head station begins the railway section of four tracks that reaches the Venice Porto Marghera station first and then the Venice Mestre station, from where it branches off into the various lines for Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Salerno, Bologna, Verona , Brescia, Ferrara, Trieste, Udine. From this station there are also lines to some European cities such as Paris, Vienna, Munich and Geneva. The station is also served by the historic Simplon Orient Express line. Work on the construction of the railway began in 1860. It got its current look in 1952 when all the works were completed under the leadership of engineer Paolo Perilli. Within the station, ticket sales for regional trains as well as for high-speed freccia rossa trains are well organized. Of course there are also vending machines for ticket sales. Staniza offers a rich gastronomic offer. There are restaurants, pastry shops, snack bars, coffee bars. And also a multitude of quality souvenir shops as well as textile clothing stores. La Ferrovia is the name of the Vaporetto stop, which is located right in front of the station. From this departure vaporetto lines area you can take one of these boats, whose many lines cross the canals of Venice and the neighboring islands. One important note, remember to validate your ticket before boarding the train by inserting it into the special machines of the station.

It's very nice for public transportation. There is this ferry ⛴️ if you need public transportation in Venice called "vaporeto" I tried public transportation and the trip was very nice especially in the sunny day

There is absolutely no information on English: neither written, nor the spoken announcements. Nothing is open and no one is present after 21 o'clock or even sooner. We had to stay many hours in the cold outside because our train was severely delayed.

The train station is the most convenient way into old Venice. The piazza outside is a beautiful and vibrant impression of this wonderful city. The train station is easy to navigate for anyone including tourists.

As soon as you walk out of the station, you will see the charming Venice!!! The train station is not big, but there are many stores that make it easy for you to buy the stuff you need before you leave. The police and service staff at the station are friendly and you can also buy "Rolling Venice Card" here.

Great station that serves as a gateway to the rest of Italy, travel to Rome, Naples, Garda, Como you name it all from here. The station is well managed, clean with good social distancing procedures. A good selection of shops, food offers and services are available here, it’s also easy to get a bus boat from here via the grand canal, literally just outside the entrance.

Much cleaner than many Italian train stations. Ease of access and navigating trains is way simpler than before - granted I haven't been here in 20 years when I couldn't even figure out how to buy a ticket.

Really great train station in Venice. Places to shop and eat. Easy access to the trains and the ferries are directly outside the station. Easy access. Station is very clean. Really enjoyed our visit to this train station.
