G	Gianluca Lovino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È un luogo della fede meno conosciuto rispetto ad altri in zona con maggiore risonanza. Non per questo meno suggestivo. Vi si arriva con molta facilità da Cagnano, e vi si trova un ampio parcheggio. Dopo aver attraversato un breve percorso abbracciato dal verde, si viene investiti da un'aria fresca e molto umida: vi trovate quindi proprio di fronte all'ingresso di questo luogo ricavato in una grotta. Di per sè il santuario non contiene elementi decorativi di pregio (la statua di s michele è una copia di quella di M. S. Angelo). Ma potrete vedere ciò che resta di alcuni affreschi e delle curiose incisioni sulle pietre del pavimento. Il luogo non è ben mantenuto: vi e umidità e acqua ovunque, altare compreso. Immagino sia la cifra distintiva della grotta ma le poche cose che troverete sono preda dell'umidità. Vale però certamente una visita. E magari una migliore valorizzazione. It is a place of faith less known than others in the area with greater resonance. No less suggestive for this. It can be reached very easily from Cagnano, and there is a large parking lot. The sanctuary itself does not contain any valuable decorative elements (the statue of St. Michael is a copy of that of M. S. Angelo). But you will be able to see what remains of some frescoes and curious engravings on the floor stones. The place is not well maintained: there is humidity and water everywhere, including the altar. I guess it is the distinctive feature of the cave but the few things you will find are prey to humidity. It is certainly worth a visit though. And maybe a better enhancement.
t	tommaso grenga on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Penso che chiunque, scendendo la scalinata in pietra con le luci soffuse e il vociare basso e distante della messa che si stava celebrando, non farebbe fatica ad immedesimarsi in quei pellegrini che per secoli hanno raggiunto questo luogo. Superato il portone per raggiungere la grotta, troviamo le testimonianze incise sulla pietra, dei tanti uomini e donne che sono arrivati a Monte Sant'Angelo con le più disparate motivazioni, chi magari come ex voto e chi di passaggio per chiedere una benedizione prima di imbarcarsi per la terra santa. La grotta, in cui secondo la leggenda San Michele apparve e si riposo' prima di dirigersi a Montesantangelo, è rimasta come all' origine , con una flebile illuminazione e con un arredamento minimale ,che preserva Il progetto spirituale della natura. All' esterno troviamo uno spiazzo ben aggiustato con una scalinata ( via crucis) che porta in un uliveto sopra la grotta da dove si intravede uno splendido panorama del Lago di Varano e del suo istmo che lo separa dal mare. Tornando alla grotta, Si entra sotto un arco e si percorre un piccolo viale con profumi di frutti d' altri tempi. Si entra nella grotta dove si trovano piccoli antri di roccia, in uno di essi ci sarebbero rimaste le impronte Delle ali dell' arcangelo. Ci sono diversi altari in marmo, degli affreschi antichi non curati e rovinati dall' ambiente umido, l' altare maggiore con la statua di San Michele. Alla cui sinistra si può vedere un gioco di luci che a tanti sembrano far apparire due sagome di Padre Pio, da giovane e da anziano. In fondo alla grotta c'è una sorgente chiamata fonte di Santa Lucia, la leggenda vuole che sia acqua miracolosa. A contornare il tutto un simpatico vecchietto che fa il custode della grotta da 40 anni. Wonderful place for the peace and tranquility it gives you. There are several marble altars, ancient frescoes not treated and ruined by the damp environment, the main altar with the statue of San Michele. To the left of which you can see a play of lights that to many seem to make two silhouettes of Padre Pio appear, as a young man and an elderly man. At the bottom of the cave there is a spring called the source of Santa Lucia, legend has it that it is miraculous water. To surround it all a nice old man who has been the keeper of the cave for 40 years.

Qualora fosse chiusa la grotta è comunque possibile contattare il custode al numero telefonico dell'altra foto che allego ( su un cartello nel cancello d'ingresso), tra l'altro persona molto gentile. È presente uno spazioso parcheggio a ridosso dell'ingresso della grotta. Facile da raggiungere tramite Google Maps che risulta preciso nelle indicazioni. Non per forza dovete essere devoti per apprezzare l’aura positiva al suo interno. Il luogo più bello è la piccola nicchia posta dietro l’altare, per chi è affine alle vibrazioni energetiche un concentrato di forza della Terra. Fuori dalla Grotta, sopra il monte c’è una vista spettacolare raggiungibile da una comoda scalinata (un po’ lunga, ma non troppo faticosa da percorrere). INCANTEVOLE.
