A	Aurora Del Bandecca on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa, una delle più antiche e prestigiose di Asti, risale al XI secolo come attesta il campanile dalla base romanica. Facciata sobria in mattoni con timpano ornato da cuspidi, rosone centrale superiore e portale ai cui lati erano raffigurati entro nicchie, San Biagio e Sant'Agostino, affreschi ora staccati e conservati nella Chiesa. All'interno, Pala di Gandolfino da Roreto raffigurante "La Madonna in trono" coi Santi Agostino, Secondo, Caterina ed Agata e col Cristo risorto nella lunetta, la gigantesca cattedra lignea ed il coro ligneo in forma semiovale. Inoltre tele seicentesche, Cristo crocifisso e le due statue lignee di Santa Margherita e Santa Eulalia di scultore piemontese. Questa Chiesa è stata legata per molto tempo all'ospedale civile ed era la Chiesa più amata da Don Bosco che la visitò nel 1862 e nel 1919. Nel territorio della parrocchia, i salesiani aprirono il primo storico Oratorio detto "della Vittoria". Patrona di Santa Maria Nuova è stata per molti secoli, Maria Ausiliatrice. Il 27 marzo 2017, la Diocesi ha concesso la Chiesa, agli ortodossi a titolo gratuito per dieci anni. The Church, one of the oldest and most prestigious of Asti, dates back to the 11th century as attested by the bell tower from the Romanesque base. Sober brick façade with a tympanum decorated with cusps, the upper central rose window and portal whose sides were depicted in niches, San Biagio and Sant'Agostino, frescoes now detached and preserved in the Church. Inside, Pala di Gandolfino da Roreto depicting "The Enthroned Madonna" with Saints Agostino, Secondo, Caterina and Agata and with the risen Christ in the lunette, the gigantic wooden cathedra and the semi-oval wooden choir. Also seventeenth-century paintings, Christ crucified and the two wooden statues of Santa Margherita and Santa Eulalia by a Piedmontese sculptor. This Church was for a long time linked to the civil hospital and it was the Church that Don Bosco most loved and visited in 1862 and 1919. In the territory of the parish, the Salesians opened the first historic Oratorio called "della Vittoria". Patroness of Santa Maria Nuova has been Mary Help of Christians for many centuries. On 27 March 2017, the Diocese granted the Church to the Orthodox for free for ten years.

Molte auto parcheggiate che impediscono la visuale della stessa. The bell tower is spectacular. Too bad it is surrounded by buildings and it is not possible to admire it in its entirety. Peccato che le auto parcheggiate impediscano di ammirare tutta la sua bellezza. Merita di essere visitata. Small church located a few steps from the city center, now it is used for Orthodox worship.
