La cappella è stata progettata dall'architetto siracusano Pompeo Picherali nel settecento. La forma della cappella è a pianta rettangolare con una cupola sul soffitto. Il simulacro argenteo di Santa Lucia è tenuto chiuso al sicuro dentro una custodia formata da due sportelli lignei e davanti ad essi un robusto cancello in ferro che la protegge. The chapel of Santa Lucia is in the heart of all Syracusans, since the silver statue of the saint is kept in it. The chapel was designed by the Syracusan architect Pompeo Picherali in the eighteenth century. The shape of the chapel is rectangular with a dome on the ceiling. The silvery simulacrum of Saint Lucia is kept safely locked inside a case made up of two wooden doors and in front of them a sturdy iron gate that protects it.

Vi si accede da un lavorato cancello in ferro battuto opera di Pietro Spagnuolo del 1609. Al centro un altare con un quadro raffigurante S. Lucia del XVIII secolo. Dietro il quadro vi è una nicchia, dove è posto il simulacro argenteo dì S. Lucia, opera dello scultore palermitano Pietro Rizzo del 1599, mentre la cassa in argento è di Nibilio Gagini. Ai lati dell'altare due statue in marmo, S. Lucia e S. Eutichio di Ignazio Marabitti del 1711. Nelle pareti laterali le tombe dell'Arcivescovo Requiesenz e della famiglia Bonanno - Landolina. In the center an altar with a painting depicting St. Lucia from the 18th century. Behind the painting there is a niche, where the silver simulacrum of St. Lucia is placed, the work of the sculptor Pietro Rizzo from Palermo in 1599, while the silver case is by Nibilio Gagini. On the sides of the altar two marble statues, S. Lucia and S. Eutichio by Ignazio Marabitti from 1711. On the side walls are the tombs of Archbishop Requiesenz and of the Bonanno - Landolina family.
