Sì, se si è a Roma, ed in particolare nel Parco di Villa Borghese! Sebbene la struttura sia novecentesca sono chiari i rimandi all'architettura classica, come ad esempio le colonne ed i rilievi presenti sulla facciata. Sebbene, purtroppo, il sito versi in uno stato praticamente d'abbandono è interessante notare quanto l'edificio, così circondato dal verde, mantenga un aspetto monumentale ma allo stesso tempo intimo con la zona verde circostante Could a water tank, capable of storing the precious liquid from ancient Roman aqueducts, still be wonderful? Ai primi del Novecento l'espansione dei quartieri signorili a Nord di villa Borghese come il quartiere Sebastiani e il quartiere Salario necessitava di un nuovo serbatoio dell'Acqua Marcia per il rifornimento idrico. Il Comune di Roma prese in considerazione l'idea di costruire il serbatoio al confine di via di Porta Pinciana al posto di un edificio seicentesco destinato alla demolizione e adibito a magazzino. Successivamente fu deciso di realizzare il serbatoio a ridosso del casino nobile della villa, il progetto di massima presentato nel 1912 dall'amministrazione comunale fu scartato perché redatto in uno stile troppo monumentale ed eclettico. Nel 1913 si decise quindi di indire un concorso pubblico per valutare il progetto che meglio si adattasse alle particolari caratteristiche del luogo, le prescrizioni della Commissione Edilizia erano quelle di 'un edificio che dall'esterno apparisse completamente rustico a forma di scogliera coperta di verde'. The Villa Borghese reservoir is located in the Parco dei Daini, in the Pinciano district. Purtroppo, come troppi luoghi a Roma, in stato di abbandono. To be a water tank ... it's really beautiful. A real monument in Baroque style, albeit recent (early 1900s).
