emigrati dalla Sicilia prima a Genova poi a Livorno nel anno 1866.Erano dedicati alle construzioni navali e all'industria meccanica.Dove prima era l'arsenale militare marittimo di San Rocco, hanno progettato stabilimento per le costruzioni
navali di ferro.Ampliando e modificando storico cantiere di navi in legno, in breve nuovo cantiere fu sommerso dalle commissioni da tutta Italia e dal mondo, compresa Regia Marina Quattro poderose corazzate gemelle sono entrate a fare parte della Marina Militare Italiana che diventata una delle squadre navali più potenti per questo periodo.
Il monumento a Luigi Orlando e antico ingresso al primo cantiere.Dopo la morte di Luigi Orlando, dopo diversi problemi finanziari,
con passare del tempo sempre più gravi, dopo distruzione da vari bombardamenti
durante la ll guerra ,il cantiere diviso in vari settori, ricostruzione,e smantellamento di gran parte delle costruzioni, sotto controllo di nuova direzione di Benetton ha ricominciato produzione e riparazione dei yacht molto richiesta.Sul terreno conquistato dopo le demolizioni,ora è in corso costruzione del bel quartiere Porta a Terra, compresa zona di negozi tipo Conad, e ristoranti.
SCOGLIO DELLA REGINA
Nel primi anni del 1800 questo luogo fu frequentato dalla Regina Maria Luisa
d 'Etruria, suo interesse per la bellezza
del posto e voglia di avere bagno privato,si è fatta scavare una vasca naturale alimentata da acqua di mare.Era uno dei primi stabilimenti balneari della città.Lungomare di Livorno diventa in seguito una delle mete turistiche estive più prestigiose d'Europa.Oggi la sua struttura ospita un polo tecnologico e di ricerca.Posto incantevole, dove andare a vedere i tramonti, con la vista sulle isole Capraia e Gorgona.
