β β β β β Itβs such an incredible place, I can stress it enough how amazed I was walking down every single street there. I highly recommended joining a guided tour in Pompei to not only see the beauty of the city but also to learn about its interesting and dramatic history:

β β β β β A unique experience, come early and be ready for a lot if walking, Pompeii is huge and needs all day to properly visit it.

β β β β β Really undecided how to rate this place so decided on an average.
Biggest reasons are;
* The lack of organisation at the ticket counters, an online ticket that's more expensive still means you have to queue to get it exchanged for a paper!!
* The crowds and especially the huge groups hogging the pathways
* in the end of you've seen Roman ruins they are nothing unusual compared to the others. Only the Ash encased bodies and these are behind some pretty dirty finger smudged glass enclosure
* directions inside were confusing compared to the map provided.
Not my best impression of such a place for sure

β β β β β Amazing history and artifacts to view! My tour guide was a great story teller and shared a great amount of details throughout my 2 hour tour. So many revalations where a lot architectural ideas used in home construction today

β β β β β Entry is free at first sunday of the month. It is very, very big. At the information point they told us there are no signs, so you need a guide, but there are signs to the places, just no information boards about what you see. We were early and it was getting crowded real soon. Pavements are sometimes hard to walk, especially after rain. The bodies that were found are exhibited in glass cages. I thought they could be seen in the streets where they were found.

β β β β β Very well organized and preserved place. The city itself doesnβt need any introduction and if you are planning to come you know how amazing it is. About the facilities, you may struggle with toilets, long queues and dirty facilities. Most of the place completely lacks of any signs explaining what you are looking at.

β β β β β Cannot even begin to say how amazing this place is. Beats every other historical monument ever. Days and weeks of exploration possible. Go, get the book or the audio guide and visit at your leisure. Easy to reach by super cheap public transport.

β β β β β This was the most amazing experience. Kept so beautifully one feels like one belongs to Pompei! Going in Feb meant we had lovely empty streets to admire and could walk into the houses without rush. An awesome time of exploration!
