Unica pecca la totale mancanza di indicazioni (non pensate "vabbè tanto ho il navigatore", è dura lo stesso xD). It is an enchanting place, if it were not a religious place it could be defined almost magical, you cannot fail to visit it if you are near Isernia. The only flaw is the total lack of information (do not think "oh well I have a navigator", it is hard the same xD).

Seppur esternamente dal punto di vista estetico non sembrerebbe nulla di che, internamente il santuario è molto bello (e fresco) con pareti quasi interamente affrescate e un soffitto in legno a cassettoni che di certo non passa inosservato. Sarebbe necessario ripristinare le recinzioni di sicurezza delle scale a destra guardando il santuario (quelle che portano sulla strada) che non impediscono in alcun modo il passaggio sulle scale che sono abbastanza pericolanti. Carini i micini ? At the gates of Isernia it is the ideal place to have a view of the historic center. Although externally from an aesthetic point of view it would seem nothing special, internally the sanctuary is very beautiful (and fresh) with almost entirely frescoed walls and a wooden coffered ceiling that certainly does not go unnoticed. It would be necessary to restore the safety fences of the stairs on the right looking at the sanctuary (those leading to the road) which do not in any way prevent the passage on the stairs which are quite unsafe. Cute kittens ?
M	Mirko Rapino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Santuario Santi Cosma e Damiano si trova a 400 metri di altitudine e risale al 1523 ed è situata su una collinetta separata dal promontorio. Secondo la tradizione cristiana infatti i due santi a cui è dedicato il santuario furono medici che dedicarono tutte le loro conoscenze alla guarigione delle malattie dei poveri. Esternamente il santuario è anonimo e solamente entrando si può ammirare tutto il suo fascino. Al suo interno sono presenti dei bisti in argento del XVII secolo con all’interno le reliquie dei due santi e sono presenti, inoltre, due piccole statue in gessi raffiguranti i due santi a cui è dedicato il santuario. La parte interna della chiesa è sviluppata a navata singola con il soffitto realizzato a cassettoni (molto bello e molto ben conservato) riccamente decorato e contenente nella parte centrale un ovale con l’immagine dei Santi. Il presbiterio termina con un’abside. A ornamento della chiesa un bel ciclo di affreschi con la vita dei santi Cosma e Damiano di scuola napoletana. Un osservazione speciale va alla croce di legno collocata al di sopra dell'altare e alla cappella posta lateralmente. The Sanctuary of Santi Cosma e Damiano is located at an altitude of 400 meters and dates back to 1523 and is located on a small hill separated from the promontory. According to Christian tradition, in fact, the two saints to whom the sanctuary is dedicated were doctors who dedicated all their knowledge to healing the diseases of the poor. Externally the sanctuary is anonymous and only by entering you can admire all its charm. Inside there are silver bistas from the seventeenth century with the relics of the two saints inside and there are also two small plaster statues depicting the two saints to whom the sanctuary is dedicated. The internal part of the church has a single nave with a coffered ceiling (very beautiful and very well preserved) richly decorated and containing an oval in the central part with the image of the Saints. The presbytery ends with an apse. A beautiful cycle of frescoes depicting the life of Saints Cosma and Damiano of the Neapolitan school adorns the church. A special observation goes to the wooden cross located above the altar and to the chapel located on the side.
F	Francis Tiso on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lived here for 12 years, until 1998. The new altar, 2019, is acceptable. The new ambo is not in keeping with the 16th century interior. I am glad that some of the relics are venerated in a glass chamber under the altar. Many fine details of the side retablos were stolen or damaged and alas are not correctly restored. Water infiltrations are once again marring the 17th century frescoes. The 1987 restorations need refreshing. Glad to see the medieval crucifix in place, and the 18th century tracker action organ still functioning.
