In controtendenza , San Francesco di Paola è stato spesso soggetto a restauri e ristrutturazioni. Nice sanctuary, well kept both inside and out. In Milazzo, unfortunately, many historic buildings and churches are almost in ruins. In contrast, San Francesco di Paola has often been subject to restorations and renovations.

Grande santo con una grande e umile personalità ci dimostra che la persona umana in unione con l'Amore creatore di Dio può moltissimo finanche i miracoli! e tantissimi come ne faceva Francesco. Sia di aiuto a tutti noi. Vista suggestiva, da visitare assolutamente! N	NIMICA on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Potenziale sprecato. La chiesa è molto bella, un mare di particolari che rapiscono cuore e anima, se non fosse tenuta così male. I quadri non si vedono più dall'usura. Muri pieni di umidità. Le parti in ferro tutte arrugginite, le parti in pietra decadono, le parti in stoffa lise.. Wasted potential. The church is very beautiful, a sea of details that kidnap heart and soul, if it were not kept so badly. The paintings are no longer visible from wear. Walls full of damp. Con uno stile barocco, magnifici dipinti e vari posti a sedere, la Chiesa è abbastanza grande e rappresenta uno dei punti di riferimento per cerimonie come matrimoni e cresime nella città di Milazzo e per tutta la zona. La chiesa è dedicata al Santo taumaturgo San Francesco di Paola che ha soggiornato a Milazzo nel ‘400 e che ha contribuito attivamente alla realizzazione dell'edificio e dell’annesso monastero dell’ordine dei Minimi. La chiesa, ad un’unica navata, è ben tenuta ed è ricca di marmi policromi, di affreschi, di lapidi e di epigrafi. Sulla destra del vestibolo, nella cappella del Santissimo Crocefisso, in una teca di cristallo, si trova il corpo di Santa Candida martire. The Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Milazzo and stands on the San Biagio hill from which it dominates the port. The church is dedicated to the holy miracle worker San Francesco di Paola who stayed in Milazzo in the 1400s and who actively contributed to the construction of the building and the adjoining monastery of the order of the Minims. The church, with a single nave, is well maintained and is rich in polychrome marble, frescoes, tombstones and epigraphs. On the right of the vestibule, in the chapel of the Santissimo Crocefisso, in a crystal case, is the body of Santa Candida martyr.

A visit to the church is possible and you can get introduce to St. Francis if Paola miracles, from how he crossed the strait of Messina to when he lengthened a beam to allow for building the church :) A clear blue sky or moonlit night will do for amazing pictures.
