Il Santuario della Madonna di San Martino sorge su un ex avamposto militare di epoca medioevale. Immerso nel verde e nel silenzio, è situato alla destra del torrente Inferno in una posizione dominante rispetto al territorio circostante. Al Santuario si accede lungo una scalinata fiancheggiata da cappelle della Via Crucis la cui costruzione iniziò nel 1745. La Madonna di San Martino si celebra la seconda domenica di ottobre.
Sanctuary of San Martino - via san Martino, Valmadrera LC
The Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Martino stands on a former military outpost of the Middle Ages. Surrounded by greenery and silence, it is located to the right of the Inferno stream in a dominant position with respect to the surrounding area. The Sanctuary is accessed along a staircase flanked by chapels of the Via Crucis whose construction began in 1745. The Madonna of San Martino is celebrated on the second Sunday of October.
