Una bomboniera nel cuore delle colline senesi e che, letteralmente, sovrasta la Via Francigena perchè il Santuario è stato costruito sopra la strada: di fatto, l'altare del santuario è posto sopra la strada. All'interno della Diocesi di Siena, il santuario è affidato alle cure pastorali dell'Istituto Servi del Cuore Immacolato di Maria che, insieme alle Suore Serve del Cuore Immacolato di Maria (anch'esse impegnate a tempo pieno nell'animazione di questo gioiellino sacro avendo, adiacente allo stesso la casa di formazione delle Suore) e ad un generoso gruppo di laici, costituiscono la Famiglia del Cuore Immacolato di Maria. Molto suggestiva la storia del ritrovamento dell'immagine mariana (uno stucco) venerata nel Santuario. Very beautifull! Inside the Diocese of Siena, the sanctuary is entrusted to the pastoral care of the Institute of the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary which, together with the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (also engaged full-time in the animation of this sacred jewel having, adjacent to it, the house of formation of the Sisters) and to a generous group of lay people, they constitute the Family of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The story of the discovery of the Marian image (a stucco) venerated in the Sanctuary is very suggestive.

Colpisce come si sia salvato miracolosamente solo l'affresco della Madonna. The right place for a stop on the Via Francigena. Unfortunately the original sanctuary was destroyed by German soldiers during the last war. It is striking how miraculously only the fresco of the Madonna was saved.

La distruzione subita durante l'ultima guerra testimonia la stupidità e l'affezione umana allo stesso tempo, in un bipolarismo logoro che difficilmente troverà mai soluzione. È comunque l'amore verso la Madonna e il sito in sé, che promuove e tiene in vita questo santuario, piccolo gioiello del Cristianesimo. Per i più piccoli, o come carina nota a contorno, si consiglia la visita (libera) del presepe ricavato in una cantina sotterranea accessibile dall'esterno Nice sanctuary, full of history, but above all adored by the locals. L'onterno della chiesa è piuttosto spartano, ma questo non ne diminuisce il fascino, anzi, per chi desidera fare una preghiera è più facile concentrarsi. E comunque, basta la storia del santuario, a tenderlo imperdibile. Assolutamente vale la pena giocarsi una domenica lì! Absolutely to visit! Wonderful place and wonderful way to get there. Fantastic to do by bike! The interior of the church is rather Spartan, but this does not diminish its charm, on the contrary, for those who want to make a prayer it is easier to concentrate. And anyway, the history of the sanctuary is enough to make it unmissable. It is absolutely worth playing on a Sunday there!
