Vi è stata anche una Farmacia che era rinomata in tutta la città. The Annunziata plant was founded in 1320 by the citizens of Gaeta, and included a hospital complex, an orphanage and a church. There was also a Pharmacy which was renowned throughout the city.

Nella chiesa si possono ammirare due tele di Luca Giordano e un polittico nel presbiterio, che non ha niente da invidiare ai retabli spagnoli. This church is best known for the Golden Chapel where Pius IX, who fled Rome and took refuge in Gaeta, was inspired by the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of 1954. In the church you can admire two paintings by Luca Giordano and a polyptych in the presbytery, which has nothing to envy to the Spanish retables.

Il Santuario vale una fermata ed una visita completa, soprattutto alla Grotta d'oro, detta anche Cappella dell'Immacolata Concezione. È un piccolo gioiello, sia per i dipinti e l'oro zecchino che ricopre il tetto, sia per il legame con il dogma dell'Immacolata. Infatti nel 1854 il Papa poco prima di proclamare il dogma era stato ospite in questa Chiesa, pregando spesso in questa cappella. A visit absolutely to be done if you pass through Gaeta. The Sanctuary is worth a stop and a complete visit, especially the Golden Grotto, also known as the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
