★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho visitato questa chiesa in occasione di un viaggio organizzato a Gaeta. Per merito della guida, Sig.ra Pina, che ci ha portato a visitare alcune delle attrattive della cittadina, mi sono imbattuta in questo luogo ricco di storia e assolutamente da consigliare. Peccato per l'addetto (la guida lo ha chiamato Massimo, se non erro), il quale tutto è deputato, tranne che "all'accoglienza", ancor più grave trattandosi di un luogo religioso. A noi partecipanti, ci ha ammoniti severamente, all'ingresso, di indossare correttamente la mascherina e di sanificarci le mani. Nulla da eccepire se non fosse che il dispenser non avesse più al suo interno alcunché. Nonostante i dispositivi di protezione, non ha fatto altro che richiamarci, con tono sgarbato, alle distanze di sicurezza, salvo poi diventare mansueto, alla nostra uscita dalla cappella d'oro, per chiedere un'offerta per la manutenzione della stessa. Sovente si incontrano purtroppo, in luoghi preposti alla preghiera, simili personaggi. Avvisati, armatevi comunque di pazienza e non tralasciate una visita (meglio se usufruendo di una guida esterna) a questo gioiello.
I visited this church on the occasion of an organized trip to Gaeta. Thanks to the guide, Mrs. Pina, who took us to visit some of the attractions of the town, I came across this place full of history and absolutely to be recommended. Too bad for the attendant (the guide called him Massimo, if I am not mistaken), who is responsible for everything except "welcoming", even more serious since it is a religious place. To us participants, he severely warned us, at the entrance, to wear the mask correctly and to sanitize our hands. Nothing to complain if it were not that the dispenser no longer had anything inside. Despite the protective devices, he did nothing but call us back, in a rude tone, to safe distances, only to become meek, on our exit from the golden chapel, to ask for an offer for its maintenance. Unfortunately, we often meet similar characters in places dedicated to prayer. Be warned, however, arm yourself with patience and do not miss a visit (preferably with an external guide) to this jewel.
