La cupola viene eseguita da Pier Antonio Bernabei ed i suoi allievi, che seppur essendo artisti minori rispetto al Correggio o al Parmigianino realizzano un piccolo capolavoro barocco. Little gem. The dome is executed by Pier Antonio Bernabei and his students, who even though they are minor artists compared to Correggio or Parmigianino, they make a small Baroque masterpiece.

L'interno é a pianta esagonale, ad unica navata, in stile manierista. Le caratteratiche che rendono unica questa chiesa sono: - la cupola affrescata da P. A. Bernabei; - le cappelle laterali sempre affrscate; - la volta del presbiterio. Nei giorni venerdì, sabato e domenica é adibita al culto ortodosso. Visita molto consigliata. Ingresso: libero. The neighborhood Santa Maria church is located in the center of Parma. The structure dates back to the early 1600s. The building is mannerist, imposing. The interior is hexagonal, with a single nave, in the mannerist style. The characteristics that make this church unique are: - the dome frescoed by P. A. Bernabei; - the side chapels always frescoed; - the vault of the presbytery. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday it is used for Orthodox worship. Visit highly recommended. Free admission.

Consiglio di visitare i borghi ( vicoli) di case colorate, e i piazzali piccole aree verdi di quartiere che rendono L’oltrtorrente vivibile e magico The center of Parma is not just the historic center but also the Oltretorrente, the picturesque heart, where the people of Parma today coexist well integrated with realities of different cultures and ethnic groups. I recommend visiting the villages (alleys) of colorful houses, and the small green squares of the neighborhood that make the Oltrtorrente livable and magical

Ha base esagonale, nonostante il concilio di Trento avesse prescritto chiese a croce latina ed è abbellita da una splendida cupola che, sebbene opera di artisti minori, Pier Antonio Bernabei e discepoli, fa davvero un'ottima impressione. Attualmente viene utilizzata anche dalla comunità ortodossa The church owes its name to the fact that it was built near the military camp. Faccio voto che il cumune si dia una svegliata e si metta al servizio delle belle arti.
