Piccola ricerca: Il Fornovo progettò un edificio composto da un corpo centrale a pianta ellittica con dieci absidiole (cinque per lato) disposte a raggiera attorno all'aula sacra: all'edificio si accede attraverso un monumentale arco di ingresso posto in via d'Azeglio, già strada maestra di Santa Croce, e il portale è sovrastato da un grande rilievo a stucco, di una madonna annunciata, situato sopra il timpano della porta centrale e realizzato nel 1681 da Giovan Battista Barberini.
I frati, per dare un segno di continuità rispetto alla loro antica chiesa conventuale, vollero che nella nuova costruzione venissero traslati la grande pala con la Madonna col Bambino e i santi Giovanni Battista, Luca, Giovanni evangelista e Francesco (realizzata da Francesco Zaganelli da Cotignola) e l'affresco del Correggio con la Vergine Annunciata (ora nella Galleria Nazionale di Parma).

Small research: Fornovo designed a building consisting of an elliptical central body with ten apses (five on each side) arranged radially around the sacred hall: the building is accessed through a monumental entrance arch located in via d'Azeglio , formerly the main road of Santa Croce, and the portal is dominated by a large stucco relief, of an announced madonna, located above the tympanum of the central door and built in 1681 by Giovan Battista Barberini.
To give a sign of continuity with respect to their ancient convent church, the friars wanted the large altarpiece with the Madonna and Child and the saints John the Baptist, Luke, John the Evangelist and Francis to be moved to the new construction (made by Francesco Zaganelli da Cotignola) and the fresco by Correggio with the Virgin Annunciata (now in the National Gallery of Parma).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La struttura esterna è molto bella, anche di notte. Dentro ho trovato dei marmi pazzeschi, con accostamenti cromatici geniali come il rosa/giallo dei disegni floreali del presbiterio. Ah stavano suonando la chitarra e cantando molto bene questa domenica. Veramente bello, bravi!
The outside structure is very nice, even at night. Inside I found some crazy marbles, with brilliant color combinations such as the pink / yellow of the floral designs of the presbytery. Ah they were playing guitar and singing very well this Sunday. Really nice, good!
