β β β β β The sheer size of this place is incredible! It's got a bit more of a modern feel but I was awestruck. I especially loved the sundial (not the right word but I can't remember the proper term) with the zodiac signs embedded in the floor. This is DEFINITELY worth a visit even if you're not in the neighborhood!

β β β β β This is the first place I came across when going for a wander away from the Termini station area.
Beautiful church full of spectacular paintings within, and gardens with what look like Roman remains without.

β β β β β Beautiful ornate church within walking distance of Rome train station. Originally it was an ancient Roman bath that was converted to this church by Michelangelo.

β β β β β FREE to go in and pleasantly surprised once inside. It is huge inside with various pieces of artwork painted on the walls and ceilings. Not what you would expect when looking at the outside!

β β β β β What an amazing place, with history down several levels to a very very early Christian altar! We went into Santa Maria of the Angels by chance, and were just mesmerized- it was on our 3rd day in Rome, we hadnβt seen many churches yet, and this was just loaded with art and amazing history. We highly recommend a visit here, and allow some time to go below and see amazing preserved ruins, and history.

β β β β β A must see basilica in Rome. Designed by Michaelangelo. Lots of great stained glass and statues to see here. The sundial was rather intriguing as well, definitely a nice touch. Massive organ as well, would love to hear it played. You are also able to walk around outside which has lots of cool architecture to see. Worth the visit.
