★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Basilica founded by saint John Bosco. Strongly charismatic place for friends of DB ... where he understood the plan of God with him few months before his death. Rooms of don Bosco available for pilgrims.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ +JMJ...So many Churches in Rome are my home away from home! This Church is very special to me because of the holy man of God, Saint John Bosco, who devoted (surrendered) his life for the spiritual and temporal care of neglected street boys. His work was not motivated by a desire to be a social worker for neglected youth, but as a Christian devoted to preparing youth for Sainthood and eternal happiness through a regime of prayer and active involvement in learning technical skills for the betterment of themselves and others. My visits paid to this Church (or any Catholic Church) is rarely about the architecture and artifacts in and around the Church building but more about the Church's interior being a bit of Heaven on earth. A building where I can step into a sacred space which houses the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar: Jesus, my friend, my Lord, my God. So, why visit this Church?! Enter here and allow your soul to be refreshed and then listen to the quiet voice of your soul. Be ready to follow the example of Saint John Bosco and have a genuine concern for the eternal well being of others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This enormous and enormously impressive neo-Baroque parish church is also the Italian national shrine to the Sacred Heart. No expense was spared in its decoration.
Opening times: 6:00 to 12:00, 16:00 to 20:00.
This parish church has a rich liturgical and devotional life, but the number of Masses was reduced recently.
Mass is celebrated: Weekdays 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 9:00, 18:00.
Sundays: 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:30, 15:30 (in Tagalog), 18:00.
There is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Fridays from after the 18:00 Mass to 19:15, when there is Vespers and Benediction. On Thursdays, Adoration for young people is from 20:30 to 22:00.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were staying at the Hotel Quirinale and came in via the Termini station. We then used the hop on hop off bus to tour around
This church is beautiful and has an amazing golden statue that you can see from a great distance away.
Worth a visit.
