Ho avuto l'impressione che fosse un luogo molto amato. La penombra e il fresco, soprattutto nelle calde giornate estive, unite al silenzio, rendono questa piccola chiesa una sosta interessante. Mi sono permessa di inserire nella recensione alcune notizie storiche. La costruzione della Chiesa di santa Caterina risale alla fine del XVII secolo. Nel 1722 era già aperta al culto e nel 1731 fu solennemente consacrata. La semplice facciata è in laterizio, con il portale affiancato da due piccole finestre mentre una finestra di forma semicircolare chiude in alto la facciata. L'interno è ad unica navata con due altari laterali in stucco con dipinti del XVII secolo e l'altare maggiore di forme barocche che ospita un affresco di scuola senese del XIV secolo, di cui è visibile solo la Madonna col Bambino, racchiuso entro una tela di scuola senese del XVII secolo. L'immagine, forse proveniente da un tabernacolo, è molto venerata. The beauty of this place, at the end of the panoramic pedestrian street of Pienza, is above all in the atmosphere that is perceived inside. I had the impression that it was a much loved place. The penumbra and the coolness, especially on hot summer days, combined with silence, make this small church an interesting stop. I took the liberty of including some historical information in the review. The construction of the Church of Santa Caterina dates back to the end of the 17th century. In 1722 it was already open to worship and in 1731 it was solemnly consecrated. The simple facade is made of brick, with the portal flanked by two small windows while a semicircular window closes the facade at the top. The interior has a single nave with two stucco side altars with paintings from the 17th century and the high altar of baroque forms which houses a fresco from the 14th century Sienese school, of which only the Madonna and Child is visible, enclosed within a Sienese school canvas from the 17th century. The image, perhaps from a tabernacle, is highly revered.

La fabbrica è composta da un'unica grande aula ben decorata. Particolarmente raccolta l'atmosfera che troverete all'interno.
