Molto sobrio l'interno, con poche decorazioni e un elegante crocifisso. Un'altra pieve, dedicata all'omonimo santo, era stata precedentemente eretta fuori dalle mura. Inizialmente a una navata, fu successivamente ampliata e nel Cinquecento divenne pieve, ovvero una chiesa dotata di fonte battesimale. L'edificio andò comunque incontro ad un lento declino e nel tempo fu oggetto di ripetuti restauri e modifiche. Probabilmente nel Seicento furono murati gli archi che separavano la navata originaria dal successivo ampliamento, tanto che, ancora alla fine dell'Ottocento, essa risultava ad una navata, con una porta posta sul lato sinistro dalla quale si accedeva alla cappella del Santissimo Sacramento. Nel corso del Novecento la pieve è stata oggetto di un restauro che ha ripristinano la presunta configurazione originale; in particolare furono riaperti gli archi lungo la navata e fu rimosso l'intonaco che ricopriva le superfici interne. The existence of the church is already attested in the twelfth century inside the castle of Bibbona. Another parish church, dedicated to the homonymous saint, had previously been erected outside the walls. Initially with a nave, it was later enlarged and in the sixteenth century it became a parish, or a church with a baptismal font. However, the building underwent a slow decline and over time was the subject of repeated restorations and modifications. Probably in the seventeenth century the arches that separated the original nave from the subsequent extension were walled up, so much so that, still at the end of the nineteenth century, it resulted in a nave, with a door on the left side from which one entered the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. During the twentieth century the parish was the subject of a restoration which restored the presumed original configuration; in particular, the arches along the nave were reopened and the plaster that covered the internal surfaces was removed.
