β β β β β This is one of the holiest places I've ever visited. Imagine being in the presence of the body & blood of Jesus. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

β β β β β It's a small Sanctuary, internationally acclaimed for its historic Eucharistic miracle in the VIII century. A doubtful monk about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, asked for a confirmation from the Lord Himself. During the Eucharistic celebration the Eucharistic Host took the flesh form and the Eucharistic Wine took the human blood form. Conserved through the centuries the blood is found as uneven 5 clotted globules and the darkened flesh irregular round shaped, with its central part missing. The central part of the Host didn't take the flesh-form then and remained host-form, by the centuries it's all dissolved or vanished.
Various analysis were made on Them to find that the blood and body are real and human (conserved separately). The result of the analysis show that the it is of AB type, normally with proteins, including chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. The flesh was composed of the cardiac elements of myocardium (heart muscle) endocardium (the inner layer) vagus nerve, and relevant thick left ventricle.
Leaving the scientific analysis, faithful can adore Him in any Sacramental Chapel or Church to adore Him. If the brain needs it's part, here's it!

β β β β β This church is famous for the Eucharistic Miracle that took place in the 700s. This can be witnessed in the monstrance, located behind the high altar, with the flesh set on top and the clots of dried blood contained in a sort of crystal cup at the foot of the monstrance. You could go to the back of the altar (quietly and with reverence) to venerate and spend some time in quiet prayer. Thereafter, it would also be possible to proceed down (via an opening to the right) to look at the former monastery and location where the Miracle took place. Truly a sacred place!

β β β β β Beautiful church in a nice town. As a Catholic I always find these places stunning. It was specially interestin that the miracle can be seen both from the side of the altar and from the side of the small chapel directly behind the main altar... Highly recommended to visit. And also find a nice place for an italian breakfast:)
